It is now well-established that a lot of people enjoy writing macabre obscenities like this one. But is it fun to do so?

The review smells of a homework assignment, if you know what I mean. The album is objectively NOT the absolute masterpiece that everyone praises, because there are others, like "Awake" and "Metropolis Pt-2...", that are far better. There’s too much quest for refinement here: IAW sounds too "polished," some parts are simply lethal for the listener, and you get quite bored during the tracks. There’s nothing to discuss regarding class and technique, but they aren’t enough on their own! I'm not crazy about DT, as you know: nevertheless, you can't write a review like this, come on...!!!

Pantera Vulgar Display Of Power

Reviews of this kind are blunt, it's true: and one can be truly original, in my opinion, even when writing (seemingly) nonsense. The fact is that I don't see much content here, but... that's how it is!

I really don’t understand the point of reviews like this one: it’s fine to be original, it’s absolutely fine to be provocative, but one must also give some meaning to the discourse. Otherwise, it’s just mental masturbation. There’s so much more to say about the musical/compositional side of VDOP, which you neglect to make dubious jokes and ill-timed comments. Attack the radical... let’s gloss over that! A person who is unfamiliar with the work reads the review: thus, they decide that, after all, they can continue living without listening to it. You show that you know something about Pantera, but why don’t you dwell a bit more on the ferocity of each song, the fact that there isn’t a single weak track, the exquisite solos and the monolithic riffs of Darrell (RIP), the clever use of Anselmo’s voice, etc.? Probably one of the best from the deceased band, after TGST, of course. I hope I haven’t offended "good Vinsex" with my words :)

I’ll be honest: if this album is a 4, DMDS is an 11! It seems to me that you tend to overrate a work that is "neither good nor bad," in which there are certainly some good ideas (few), that would probably have been completely ignored under a different moniker. It's true that there are biases among many, but I find that many tracks are affected, generic, and lack spontaneity. The attitude is the same, but WLA is unworthy compared to the previous ones. The review isn’t bad, however, I’m not particularly fond of the "historical" digressions; I prefer to read more about the purely musical aspect!

Honestly, I thought about it a bit before deciding whether to give 5 stars or not. In the end, I did it mainly because they did NOT use rock instrumentation, which I consider the most brilliant idea. I see all this as a potential evolution of my favorite genre (metal, of course), which many insist on declaring dead, inevitably condemned by the "new" electronics (which, to the peace of those people, has been alive and kicking since around the 50s!). For the rest, I don't hold Malmsteen and similar artists in high regard, but I’m curious to hear the Mekong Delta!

The album is nice, but the review is quite questionable. If by your roundabout reference to Sergio Leone you meant to say that this album says something new, transcends the genre, I wouldn't say so. But again, I can't understand... Sergio Leone!?

An album that is quite underrated, for better or worse, by us "old school" fans: it is indeed heavy and pretentious, and it's hard to listen to it all the way through. It may be a cliché, but the first three were a whole different story!
