I feel compelled to respond to Max, who comes in with quite the statements, with the approved fan who, even in front of the FART, if it's from the DT: becomes happy!!! If they really are the monsters they want to make us believe, doing something NEW, not the usual nonsense that obscures every art and puts it aside!

MetallaroBionico, why do you act like this? Do you think I write positively about the CCs just because they are the CCs? Don’t even think that. How should I talk about an EP with 3 covers and 3 original tracks, are we really joking here? Tell me, what drives you to this snobbery? Honestly, what’s the problem? Why do you act like “let’s just drop it, I won’t say what I really think, or else…”? But really, on Debaser, either you leave the poems with curses, or you act like Manicheans, and you understand each other just fine. What pleasure do you get from that?

In reality, NOBODY wanted this review, NOBODY (nobody!!!) loves this album, EVERYONE is "INDIGNANT" (myself included) and yet we’re still talking about it :) ... This review has been commented on 81 times and has been visited 542 times.

I took some time to think about it (!), I hope you read this post: I would definitely say (in this order) Voivod, Strapping Young Lad, and Atheist. But there would be others... cheers!

In my opinion, "progressive metal" is a label that doesn't quite fit IAW, precisely because it's "derived music" (as someone suggested) primarily from the heritage of (early) PFM, Museo Rosenbach, and Banco. I may be fixated on the precursors of the genre, but I can't stand the idea that CONVENTIONALLY it's said that DT are monstrous, truly great, and death to the infidels. In reality, I believe they have only the guitarist in terms of "metal in the strict sense"; the rest has been a (very good) reworking of many stylistic elements from the aforementioned bands. Being technically skilled doesn't necessarily mean making beautiful music, quite the opposite. I enjoy listening to "almost-metal" albums like "Awake," and "progressive" albums like "Scenes from a Memory." This, on the other hand, I don't like (anymore), it has worn me out, and after listening to it for a very long time, I consider it to be very form-driven and lacking in content. Granted (though not conceding) that there's an obsession against them, we're still faced with the usual: the average user's idea on Debaser is to insult and cast a nice fatwa on anyone who disagrees with him (see Brian Crow, see my review of Green Day,...).
