Polish death formation active for several years, of which "Genocide" represents a true "gem" of brutal death, like few are heard around. If anything, its flaw lies in excessive ordinariness, in the total lack of sound research, favoring a purely raw, violent, and sharp sound. Raw and crude, in short. Certainly very technically skilled, our guys prefer a "simply" monolithic, devastating, obsessive sound over refined musical elaborations. A work that, all in all, I appreciated, with the limitations of the case.
It begins with "Genocide," the intro of the disc, a real sound massacre: the late-period Slayer influences are crystal clear, but the attitude is more oriented towards extreme death. The vocals are immensely heavy and leave no room for variations: probably not a flaw, full respect for the stylistic choice, but less monotony would not have harmed. "Schism," with syncopated rhythms, contributes to the chaotic atmosphere of the album, whose another flaw is a drum that's a bit too uniform and predictable. The rhythms are sharp and well-structured, and they don't overdo the "guitar antics": the savage attitude of the Polish is commendable, leaving little to chance. It continues with "Non Adapted Socially," a self-explanatory title: perhaps the lyrics are slightly cliché ("Non adapted socially, You satisfy yourself with murder, Blood and sperm"), but overall a good track: Yattering always manage to express anger in the best way. Particularly beautiful "Living Bomb," with lyrics that bring us back to the most tragic current events, and a riffing worthy of the best Death. Most of the tracks very closely resemble (in their chaos) the most extreme productions of Cannibal Corpse ("Rapist's Victim"), not to mention the (in my opinion) very evident influence of the Japanese (!) Vomit Remnants (!). An additional note on the production, which is not exactly the best one could desire (it might be a deliberate choice...).
In short, if you love the rawest and most minimal sound that exists, cannot stand digressions, and don't care about sound quality, this album is for you: you won't be disappointed. :: Label: Candlelight Records/Audioglobe
