Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind

Eh eh dear Bastard, what the hell does it matter if "they’ve been doing the same shit for 25 years"? If you judge it in hindsight, of course it’s going to suck for you, but you have to judge the album from '83 and not the band from 2005 (I’ll tell you that I think they’ve sucked since Somewhere in Time)! Best Iron Maiden album along with Powerslave, a masterpiece. The review, without the adjectives, would have been a 4...

4 because the newcomers always feel encouraged when they listen to good music, I'm moved!

Okay, wise words, Jim. As far as I'm concerned, there was peace even before; what's important is that the criticisms are constructive. I also believe that a 5 is perfectly fine even if I don't agree... Happy holidays to everyone!

simply that the fresher the cream, the better it is (you took the bait!) :)!!
p.s. come on, I didn't give 1 to Disraeli, I'm quoting Jim's words in the review: "the true measure of the Cream finds greater recognition in listening to a Live or having personally attended one of their performances," for me it follows that the Cream Live are worth 5 and the studio ones 4, I don't think that's blasphemy! On another note, I can say that, for example, there are other bands that give their best in the studio and suck live, then it’s clear that a fanatic or a die-hard fan would say they always deserve 5 (see Metallica).

Well, tastes are subjective; however, the Cream are definitely among my favorite bands. They certainly make it into my personal top ten, and there are a lot of bands out there! Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I repeat, if I really have to give a score of 5 to an album, then I give it to Fresh Cream.

p.s. since I'm at it, I'll also add Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage, 5 for them too.

Criminal? But how much the hell do I have to give then to the first 4 LPs of Black Sabbath that I personally prefer and that in terms of originality might be a step higher? The Cream, after all, played blues (original blues and of the highest level, of course, but post-'70 rock owes perhaps more to Iommi & C than to the Cream). I fully associate myself with the high definition of Mr Nobody, reinterpreting it in my Ossianic way: icecream, you are a bush/berlusconi-DeCommentator, and the Taliban in comparison are liberal, libertarian, and free-market!!

Well guys, simply because I should give a 6 to Cream Live... I find, for example, that Strange Brew on Disraeli is quite "dull" compared to the live version; Eric's live solo is simply phenomenal (and like Strange Brew, there are other songs too, e.g. I Feel Free...). More than anything, it seems limiting to vote on a scale of 5/5 when it would be much better to rate on 10/10 (and possibly with honors). DeBaser should change the parameters, what do you think?

Congratulations on the review! However, I prefer the trio live, as you pointed out too. Anyway, nothing to take away from the studio work; if only there were more like this today!

Hobbit, you got ahead of me on the covers, and I'm adding two more, gorgeous and minimalist in pure form: "Master of Reality" and "Vol. 4". Compared to those, "T.D.S.O.T.M." looks like it has a flaming gothic style!!! I gave the album a 5, trying not to think about "Money" and "Time," the worst tracks... p.s. I'm raising the average for the review, also because there's much worse out there... why comment on masterpieces only once or twice? Everyone writes differently, and you’re not obliged to comment on reviews; it’s perfectly fine not to!
