The first, actual, undeniable experiment in hallucination aimed at the unsuspecting masses of Western children. The pink elephants will remain an unattainable point in the psychotropic cinema graphy of the cartoon world.

A film that is absolutely representative of contemporary society. The peaceful honesty and compassion of an adult on one side, and the dangerous naivety of an innocent girl on the other, are completely annihilated by the dark mechanisms of self-destruction that the society we live in spreads through fear. The terror that horrific things might destroy our ordinariness brings forth the pure human annihilation of the other (different and abnormal compared to us) as the only and autistic solution to the tragedies that 'should never' happen to us. What literally drives me crazy at just the thought is that when a human being is left alone during the journey of their existence (like the character played by Mikkelsen), they must not only confront their own demons but often become targets of others' (less dangerous and often trivial) demons, as they first evoke the fear of the unknown and the unexplainable within those who (comfortably) stifle their own frustrations and inadequacies in the conformity of their childish family and social lives. I would give this film a solid ten, solely for the incredible ability of the director to use the theme of pedophilia as a tool to break a psychological and social mechanism that is all too familiar to us, thus employing a theme that permeates the entire film but in a fully functional way. The crux of the film is, in my opinion, the inability to listen to and understand the other deeply: on one side, the little Klara (summarily heard and left alone to get lost in her childish uncertainties and distorted by a world increasingly devoid of aesthetic-sexual limits), and on the other, Lucas (i.e., Mikkelsen, isolated in immediacy and already socially condemned even before he can be accurately questioned by competent people). Pedophilia is certainly a vomit-inducing thing, from my point of view inconceivable, and necessarily to be eradicated. At the same time, I wonder if there might not be a behavior often underestimated and poorly understood by the shapeless masses of individuals who delude themselves into governing and bringing order to their own lives associated with this (and much more). The evil I am referring to has, in my view, given rise to the worst forms of totalitarianism our globe has ever witnessed: blind conformity. Mikkelsen delivers a magnificent performance, which after Valhalla Rising and the two Pushers, affirms his enormous talent as a character actor that is in his DNA! Equally commendable is Vinterberg's direction. A film that I highly and humanely recommend to everyone!

I just want to add one thing: it’s true, reading lacks the subject of what I express throughout the discussion. It may be trivial, it may be obvious, but the incriminated factor is genuineness. I’m not pointing fingers at the ‘old masters’; it’s obvious that after listening to your favorite albums 100 thousand times, the experience starts to crumble and becomes obstructed. But the fact is that this is not the point. The real core lies simply in the process of corruption that underlies a genre that is, by nature, incorruptible! What I mean is the growing tendency to compress everything into a nonsensical melting pot. But I mean, damn, I happened to read in a specialized magazine (I think it was Rumore) something like “Black Cobra, a young (?) Californian band that is literally driving the new generations of rockers crazy through the birth of an unprecedented genre, PUNK-DOOM.”

Miraculous rescue in these dark and weary times of decaying money. One of the bands that changed my life forever. The EP is astounding.. Every now and then I listen to We Shall Be Changed! I would have given anything to see them live at the bloom

I arrive late, but with a magnificent (if not even powerful) proposal... space-post-rock with all the right elements... Remarkable.

A sublime film: true, real, concrete, gritty, and piercing. A fraction of pure, decaying reality, in a cinematic universe of childish vacuum cleaner salesmen. A perfect review, excellent, fully conveys the idea of what that white fly of Refn is.

Immortal. Not music, but infinitesimal and unrepeatable dopaminergic sound waves. Hand Of Doom (of course) will reign supreme for the rest of eternity. Down with the unbelievers. Long live Dorset!

There's plenty of it: - Just to encourage you not to give up.. of course, now it's all becoming too commercial and honestly, for fans of the genre, it's a huge blasphemy.
