Nothing new on the Negazione front. No new album and no reunion. The band, through their website, has always reiterated a simple and straightforward concept: reunions are often attempts to scrape together money and to offer a repertoire that probably doesn’t even represent the current existential state of the musicians who “once were”.
Words that are understandable, although fortunately, Negazione is trying to spread what their music was through some tasty releases. In 2002 it was the compilation “Tutti Pazzi” (which I have already reviewed), today the digital reissue of “Lo Spirito Continua”, “Condannati a Morte nel vostro Quieto Vivere” plus the famous track “Il Giorno Del Sole”.
A simple CD? No, a disc accompanied by a delightful booklet featuring testimonials from the members of Negazione and an illustrated history of the band.
A booklet as simple in graphics as it is in words, yet capable of letting us relive, through the eyes of former punk musicians from Turin, the story of one of the greatest Italian legends.
If you don’t have an album like “Lo Spirito Continua”, trust me, this is a great opportunity to get to know it and enjoy its unparalleled power. If you already have material from the band... treat yourself to a little gift and rediscover the story of four young people who started from the cellars of Turin and ended up in every corner of the world.
