One at a time.
Glenn Branca The Ascension
Voto:
I have never listened to the album, but I have the first EP "Lesson N.1," so I think I understand when you write about "mathematically crystalline symphony," "constrained noise," etc. Branca certainly has to do with No Wave since he was part of Theoretical Girls (I recommend the eponymous collection from Atavistic), one of the most important bands in the scene, even though they are not featured in the famous compilation curated by Eno. Just one note: you can't tell me that "No New York" is a live!!!
Xymox Twist Of Shadows
Voto:
I avoided the electronic phase of (Caln of) Xymox on my dealer's advice, but I really appreciate the first two albums. I saw them live years ago; they had a great stage presence but still managed to move me.
Orange Juice You Can't Hide Your Love Forever
Voto:
Well, I really like Josef K, and if the Orange are their brothers, I can't help but be interested. Great review.
Joy Division Closer
Voto:
Great album, even though I prefer Joy Division in their singles.

I have a Visage collection and I think I can say that apart from the remarkable and well-known "Fade To Grey," the rest of their production feels like filler, perhaps because for excellent musicians like Ure, McGeoch, Currie, Adamson, and Formula, the Visage project represented just a pastime where they could perhaps toss in the ideas rejected by Ultravox and Magazine. Ratings: 5 for the anthem "Fade To Grey" and 2 for everything else.
Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream

I actually find the 90's a bit sad when it comes to rock. Fortunately, I've never listened to this, although I must have heard some excerpts from their greatest (s)hits.
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction
Voto:
It's true... it's pointless to give "1" to "Appetite for Destruction" when I've already rated it "1" multiple times... but it's stronger than me!
Gang Of Four Entertainment!
Voto:
Perhaps the Priest meant the reissue with the bonus tracks, which anyway isn't much longer.
Vasco Rossi Bollicine

I’ll break a lance in favor of the first Vasco: when Pop in Italy meant Pappalardo, Collage, Alan Sorrenti, Mino Reitano, he and Nannini brought something fresh, albeit musically modest (I wouldn't keep their CDs even if they were given to me for free). The mistake was in considering them ROCK, but that was more of an error by the general public; I don't think the first Vasco had the presumption of making Rock. "Coca-cola" and "Vado al massimo" really have nothing to do with rock or fake-rock, they are just pop, plain and simple. The problem is that over time, Vasco really believed he was a rocker and the result is clear (to the ears) for everyone.
