Prodigy The Fat Of The Land

Thanks for the info ZiOn, I might download something; hip-hop isn’t exactly one of my favorite genres, but you never know.
I remind everyone that both the videos for "Experience" and "MFTJG" aired on MTV, and especially the latter album sold quite a bit in Europe, even if not in Italy.
As for the argument some people make, like "Fat Of The Land sucks just because it was successful and played on MTV and you’re being snobby," it means nothing to me. It’s clear that in this album the Prodigy focused more on their image than on the music, trying to present themselves as a rock band with a frontman, which penalized them artistically since this frontman couldn’t sing and Howlett’s music wasn’t suited for becoming songs. That’s my opinion.

Well, of course, the optimism is already evident from the cover.

Don't you find "...I care because you do"? Where do you live, in Lampedusa?

I didn't know this thing about Doctor aka dude aka guy, Zion, but I still know that "Poison" as a hip-hop track was a hundred times better and infinitely more original.

Live they are good and their shower-singing repertoire isn't bad. However, it's hard to listen to a whole CD of theirs; it's too monotonous and polished. Rating: 2.5

Well, there were some nice ideas, "Firestarter" would have been really good if it had been less sung, for example. Also, "Climbatize" and "Narayan," if I remember correctly, were decent. But the tiresome rap of "Diesel Power" or the country crossover of "Serial Thrilla" were frustrating. I also remember "Smack My Bitch Up" as a half-assed track. It was an album that couldn’t stand more than five listens; in fact, I haven’t listened to it since then. A review that shines for its unintentional humor (or not?).
