The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Now I Got Worry
Voto:
I recently resold it, it wasn't for me. Too Rolling Stones for my tastes. When I bought it, I hoped to hear something akin to the Birthday Party and instead... don't shoot me if I didn't like it.
Coil Horse Rotorvator
Voto:
Well-written and detailed review (perhaps too much). I only have "Gold Is The Metal With The Broadest Shoulders" by Coil, but it's very fragmented and didn't really excite me that much. Is there a big difference between this one and "Horse Rotovator"?

Well, Nica71, thank you for the constructive criticism...
The Cure Mixed Up
Voto:
A record that I haven't listened to in ages, definitely the worst release by the Cure. I'd say a flat 2, although the versions of "A Forest," "Close To Me," and "The Walk" aren't that bad. In my opinion, it's not scandalous per se that the Cure released remixes, but the fact is that they were done hastily and without much effort, just to ride the wave of the success of Disintegration.

Because it costs....and because currently I don't have an internet contract that advantageous to afford downloading it for free.

Is this album really that mediocre and boring? Yet the second collaboration with Alan Vega had resulted in a great album like "Resurrection River," far from dull. Was it all thanks to Vega?
The Cure Bloodflowers

After listening to it over and over, I've come to the conclusion that this is a good record. In this album, the pain of living conveyed by Smith has, for the first time, become humble and resigned, setting aside the gloom and repressed anger of many past albums. This may not please everyone, but at least to me, it seems like the natural path of a Smith who has reached his 40s. The only tracks to toss are "Watching Me Fall," but only because it's unreasonably long, "Maybe Someday," which unfortunately flirts with Brit-pop, and "39," a mishmash that starts with an arrangement that tries to be original but then unfolds in the most predictable way. "There is No If..." is barely decent, while the others are fine songs, worthy of the best Cure. Rating: 3.5.
The Cure Japanese Whispers

Almost completely agree with Shine. This is the lowest point alongside "Wild Modd Swings." "The Walk," "The Lovecats," and "Lament" are valid tracks, but the rest ranges from barely acceptable to poor.

I don't have the record, but I liked your review, Pretazzo. To silence the controversies about the "non-instinctiveness" of your review, I was thinking that maybe you could rewrite it in dialect (I don't know, maybe Romanesco) spicing it up with some swear words and/or blasphemies, even better if written by hand on dirty and crumpled paper (that way it seems even more instinctive and spontaneous). And maybe while you're writing it, use some hard drugs while getting a blowjob from one of your fans, so it's all more rock.

Thank you for the comments. For Ghemison: a more accessible album of theirs? Try "Opus Dei"! There's also the cover "Life is Life" mentioned by Leonid.
