I think SuperCheri that you commented on the wrong album... This record has nothing to do with Armenians.

The magazine "Blow Up" even considers it their best....

If it were only for the first 8 tracks, the album would be just great routine, Banshees-style songs with good inspiration but a bit déjà vu and stripped of almost all the harshness of the past. However, what elevates the album are the more ambient and elongated tracks placed at the end: "The Quarterdrawing of the Dog," a dreamy instrumental vaguely reminiscent of The Cure, the very dark "An Execution" and "Umbrella," and the more relaxed and sung "Lullaby." The latter are truly some of the best tracks of the Banshees' career (strange that they are just bonus tracks for the CD version) and it's a shame they didn't continue down this path afterward. Well-written and detailed review, I like it.

"I made them believe I had already written about sixty songs, when in fact I had more or less ten, and they fell for it." In fact, Oasis have always had the same ten songs released endlessly.

"Noel Gallagher, after hearing them once at one of their performances, described them as "SHIT." Noel was spot on."

Beautiful review, a masterpiece of irony and sarcasm.

Well, from what I've been able to listen to from a handful of MP3s, it's an album that's more "Brown" than "Black."

@therealramona: my question was directed at the labeler Colossalyouth, who I think shot themselves in the foot with their first comment up there. (19)76 isn’t the year I’m from, but rather, believe it or not, the year I was born (of course, the 19 is implied). I bought the first Soft Cell album about 4 years ago, as far as I remember, because fortunately their records are still available and there's no need for a time machine trip back to 1981.

To me, she looks like a wreck, despite the pounds of foundation. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just that she acts like she’s some kind of hot stuff, when in reality she looks like the Barbie of Frankenstein's monster's daughter. Grotesque.

I also stopped at "Non-stop Erotic Cabaret," but this review makes me want to keep going. I'm straight and I don't use drugs, yet I like Soft Cell; is that strange?
