I am waiting for a package from Tzadik, which also involves the handiwork of this virtuous one. Perhaps we will talk about it again.

I truly think I will enjoy it. I am now flying over other headlands, but a turn towards these will come sooner or later. A captivating description that invites listening.

Microsounds & metaphors raining down. Light and gentle September rain. Rain of beats to dance under. The label is a guarantee, the combo is among the most authoritative of the new dance rhythms. The album is pleasant. For moody lovers, I recommend drinking from the source where all this was reborn, namely Metro Area.
The Carl Stalling Project Music From Warner Bros. Cartoons 1936/1958

Having offspring, I spend daily time watching cartoons (only VHS or DVD because on TV...). For a few weeks now, I've been thoroughly enjoying the Silly Symphonies. These are absolute masterpieces from early Walt Disney, who had the brilliant idea of producing musical cartoons where the sound component predominates; in essence, it drives the animation. This was a success also thanks to Carl Stalling. Even more than in the WB years, his genius shines irresistibly here. My advice is to watch and listen to them. Who remembers the Skeleton Dance or the little tune from the Three Little Pigs?
The Orb The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

I subscribe to Odra's comment. UFORB is the pinnacle but this is the first, enchanting, cry. Several other things could be said. For instance, that they are a duo and that they deserve credit for having "legitimized" ambient sounds by incorporating them into dancefloors. It’s like saying that if Brian Eno can be considered the "inventor" of ambient, the Orb has generated various iterations (ambient-house, ambient-dub, etc.). "little fluffy clouds" has an ephemeral beauty.

I heard it back in the day but I don't remember much. However, the cover is really beautiful. In terms of style and content, I associate it with those of Mano Negra. I think it might have later inspired the good Manu Chao.

Thank you for introducing her. Your words reveal an imaginative sensitivity in a musical form that captivates me. Sensibilia non materialia.

Welcome these preparatory texts, although I would be even more interested in the effects on the listener (emotions, feelings, transgressions during listening). However, I don't believe that these historic "records" of electronic music should be rated in star ratings. And when has (uncontaminated) electronic music ever been perceived as a mass phenomenon?

Great, you chose the peak. I promise to listen to DJ Kicks again, time permitting...

Hi Zion, how about getting back into the review area with one on Carl Craig (shamefully absent on DeB)?
