It's difficult to choose among so many masterpieces. Even Nausicaa appears as a sad prophecy of our near future. The Master's films are enjoyable at any age; I can attest to this by seeing my 3 and 5-year-old kids get just as passionate about Mononoke as they do about Spirited Away.

The feeling regarding these pleasant and sometimes exciting sounds is one of exhaustion of the range of variations and solutions. In short, as good as the Germans are in this field, there is no comparison (see also Micatone, Jazzanova, and Minus 8 itself), not to mention the Infracom circle. However, it is always derivative music, and therefore I prefer the sources (Piero Umiliani, Martin Denny, etc.) or sublime variations like the "lounge" ensemble of John Zorn.

I recommend to everyone "The Conquest of the Useless" published by Mondadori. It is the logbook written by Herzog during the three years of production. There is little talk about the film and much more about the human relationship with the Amazon rainforest. A memorable experience almost as much as the film.

More than a documentary, it is a unique visual experience. Filming and making visible a mirage like the one at the beginning when the plane lands in the desert must have taken time and effort. While the images maintain a timeless power, I find that the voiceover weighs down the visuals too heavily, which wouldn't need much more.

Recently, I watched his latest TIME. It’s a turning point because the characters engage in dialogue and continuously make choices. A strong film still about love and especially about identity. A philosophical film, as the Orientals know how to create. The only note is that flying so high, they sometimes seem a bit self-satisfied with all this exhilaration.
