To me, the riffs also seem repetitive. Compare the first two songs of Symphony of Enchanted Lands with this one; they are practically identical.

I listened to the album while freeing myself from a series of prejudices that fundamentally stemmed from observing the cover. Really beautiful melodies, but as usual, there's a price to pay: in this case, the growling, which has never sat well with me. However, over time I'm learning to appreciate it, especially because the growling in question seems more "human" and "tormented" compared to, let's say, Akerfeldt's, which is perfect but far from a human conception.
