Forgive me, but it’s too long, and I really don’t have the time or desire to read it all... sorry... The album is good: perhaps, as you say, it’s hampered by production that is, at times, a bit intrusive, but it’s definitely enjoyable to listen to. Best regards.

@power85:..well done!!..your clarification is essential!! How do you want to call it?!?..heavy?!?..heavy-speed?!?..ju st speed?!?..or do you want to emphasize the epic elements and call it epic-speed?!..or, recalling the more classic beginnings, heavy-epic-speed-metal?!..it's worth mentioning that many fanzines and online magazines consider them power.. so to reach a consensus, they could be defined as heavy-epic-power-speed.. as long as the inclusion of bagpipes isn’t seen as a folk element.. because then it would become heavy-epic-power-folk-speed!!..I assure you that when "Tunes.." came out (so I’d say around ’95-96.. but I’m going by memory..), the GD were often compared with various Blind Guardian, Running Wild, Rage and the like (if I’m not mistaken, I even attended a couple of concerts: GD-Running Wild, GD-Rage-Blind Guardian..).. So, having abandoned THAT SCENE, I've also left THIS BAND, happy?!? ..oh my goodness..

Congratulations to Io Ho Il Pene for mentioning "M. Butterfly" (a little-known film, maybe not a masterpiece, but definitely good..). I also prefer other films by this director ("Videodrome" above all..), but this still remains a great work. Good review, excellent reference to the always-missed Price, beautiful final remark. Bye!

..I understand that with the film reviews we are still in the testing phase, but to dismiss Sellers' (multiple) performance with just 4 words seems quite unfair to me. Even the story about the unsettling faces struck me as a bit trivial.. I don't know.. I imagined that Kubrick's films (a director I don't particularly love, but whose name is always so cool to throw around..) would be among the most popular. Of course, I hoped they would be discussed with a little less superficiality and with a greater critical spirit.. oh well!..

I quote Fidia when he says that interesting discussions have emerged regarding film reviews. However, I confess that I get a thrill at the thought of how many pitaroni duplicates will end up for films considered (more or less justifiably) "cult" like Clockwork Orange, Pulp Fiction or Profondo Rosso. @kosmo:..erm.. in fact, I wasn't very clear.. I simply wanted to - without wanting to stir controversy, truly!! - highlight the decreased "visibility" of reviews. If, in fact, a new section dedicated exclusively to film reviews were created, it would still end up distracting many users from the musical ones. In short: if, within the page, the current 15 musical reviews (which last about a day each) were to have, say (just a pure hypothesis of mine..) another 15 film reviews added, this would further compromise the visibility of both types of reviews!!!.. I still think that if the intention was to improve the site, the intervened redesign hasn’t been a happy choice.. but it’s a bit like when you’ve been going to the same bar for ages.. if, from one day to the next, they change the tables and chairs, what do you do?!?.. do you stop going there?!?:DDD!!.. that said, I’ll stop whining and start writing the review for "La morte scorre sul fiume"..:DDD!! Bye!!

To be honest, I'm a bit perplexed about this "openness" to movie reviews as well. Or rather: I think it would be wise to distinguish them from music reviews. Yes, "thanks" to the new layout of the site, there are only 15 reviews on the homepage... and if this (meager) space then has to be split between music and movie reviews... who knows... Of course, as long as the reviews and the films in question are of this quality, I'm all for it! :DDD! P.S.: I also prefer it to Nosferatu... Hello everyone!!

Hello everyone!!..and thank you so much for the beautiful votes-comments!!@Ghemison: I confess I got this record thanks to the ciuco: I read about it somewhere around the web and it piqued my curiosity.. I tried to find it in some dodgy shops in Milan, but I had no luck! Anyway, the label is Matador and the release year is '95, I’m sure about that. If I’m not mistaken, Mary Timony has recently released a couple of solo albums (theoretically more traceable), but I haven't had the chance to listen to them yet.. As for the rest: thanks again to everyone!

...mmm.. it’s been quite a while since I last saw this live, but honestly, I don’t remember Staley’s voice being reduced to a “weak whisper, sad lament.” In fact, I remember him being quite in shape, ironic.. The magic of this live also lies in that “soft” atmosphere.. and then (forgive the annoying note... really, I’m sorry..), but am I wrong or are there some execution fluffs here and there?!?.. if I remember correctly, at one point Staley messes up the words of Rooster (or was it Angry Chair?!) and the band has to stop and start over!!:DDDD!!.. it’s a really funny scene with Staley letting out a “Fuck” through clenched teeth!! So this “perfect execution” doesn’t seem that great to me..!:D!.. that said, I still enjoyed the review and I think I’ve bombarded you enough.. Bye!
