@ Foster_Kane: well.. it goes without saying that in support of your thesis there is the almost unanimous opinion of the vast majority of critics and the public!:DD!! I must preface that this is the humble opinion of someone who knows perfectly well that the entire world thinks differently: I've always found Kubrick an immense director from a technical standpoint, yet many of his films have lacked something that would make me truly enjoy them, something that would put them at the top of my list of "favorite films".. a sort of transport, of involvement that, for example, is palpable in other directors who are not only technically valid but also capable of making the viewing of the film not just a simple "watching," but a kind of "living" the film (Fellini or Coppola, just to name two). I think not only of Barry Lyndon and Eyes Wide Shut (perhaps the examples where that feeling of "detachment" has been strongest), but also of the highly praised A Clockwork Orange and 2001. A different discussion for titles like Full Metal Jacket and, indeed, Shining!.. then there are also titles like Robbery by Armed Gang and The Kiss of the Assassin, but those are a different type of film and I don't think they can be brought into this discussion.. That's all. I hope I haven't earned your disdain!!:DDDD!! Bye!

Stanley Kubrick 2001 Odissea Nello Spazio

Saying everything there is to say about this film seems astronomically impossible. However, in your review, there are some very interesting insights, not to mention that it radiates "love" for this film from every letter... In short, for the review, I give you the highest score. For the film, the rating would be a couple of points lower, but I don’t want to ruin its average!!:DD! Bye!

Splendid and brilliant. One of the few Kubrick films that can truly engage the viewer.. The use of the steadicam is unbelievable. I read the novel about 15 years ago and only have vague memories of it, but I know that King didn't think much of this adaptation.. oh well!

..am I wrong or was it broadcasted on what was then called "Italia 7"?!?..I only have vague memories because I was a kid, but I remember it being cheeky!!

Indeed, he's starting to feel the years on his shoulders a bit, but remains, in my opinion, a great film by the "ensemble" Altman. The scene with the olive in the martini is legendary.. Nice review!

..the Gazosa at 14 years old were doing sweeps that I would dream about at night.. I don't understand why those who can listen to Trivium can't listen to Gazosa..
