To tell the truth, there are a few inaccuracies. By Schaffer’s own admission, the only great reference and inspiration for the rhythms of Iced Earth is... the bass lines of Steve Harris! The guitarist himself confirmed this to me years ago at the end of a concert! Secondly, in hindsight, I believe this album is a bit of a misstep. I’m not familiar with the band’s more recent production (let’s say post-Horror Show), but before "La Sega Oscura", Schaffer and the others had made two albums that completely overshadow this one: the dark Night Of The Stormrider (one of the best metal albums EVER in terms of rhythm guitar!!) and the dramatic Burnt Offering (with the masterpiece Dante's Inferno). This, in comparison, is of little substance: fairly simplistic compositional structures (verse, chorus, verse), less aggression, less darkness, and a production that’s too “clean.” And, above all, this album already felt vaguely “heard before” at the time of its release, as if the band wanted to “settle” into the power metal conventions that were so in vogue back then. Final rating: 3, but no more! There you go!

@gustavo: the fact is that, in general, even during "navigation," I prefer to look at the "bow" rather than the "stern"... I hope I’m making myself clear :DD!! @black: indeed, I’ve also noticed great similarities in tastes! at this point, I can only research this Kupra!! ;-))!
