I had a couple of tracks saved on my computer pre-fulminatio: listened to them little, to tell the truth, but all in all, quite enjoyable. Good review.

I didn't like it at all. I should preface that the original is an integral part of my childhood (and not just… damn! it's PURE PSYCHEDELIA! and then a movie with "Suck-suck-that-never-fades" MUST be a masterpiece:DDD!). I found this one excessively long: at one point I was getting up from the couch all happy... and then I realized there were still twenty minutes left. I found the whole part about Wonka's childhood a bit "forced," as if it was thrown in just to differentiate itself from the original. I didn't like Depp's characterization: too exaggerated, too over-the-top. I agree with the reviewer when they say the characters are rarely likable. I wouldn't say "crazy nonsense," but "big disappointment" definitely fits for me. Bye!

Excellent review. Although when I read about the "horrible hybrid between Metallica's 'Black Album' era and Jean Michel Jarre," I felt a shiver down my spine.

This guy is so cool!!! "Future Language" is incredible... really heavy (it's basically a heavy album), but with a lot of brass and various effects and with one of the most cheesy covers I've ever seen. To be honest, I like this one a bit less, but I think it's due to my metal background. Well done!

@Battlegods: "Wow, do you want to spend two words on each individual song?" The point is exactly this. My answer is: "No. I don't think it's necessary." I find that the TbT is boring, avoidable, and, above all, ineffective. Boring because it inevitably leads the reviewer to repeat themselves (like in your case) and forces them to dwell on the less successful moments of an album. Avoidable because an album can be described better without necessarily resorting to shopping lists (and the masterpiece reviews from my gurus Odradek, Antmo, Donjunio and company prove this). Ineffective because the reader can't get a sense of how the album sounds as a whole. Rather, I believe it's much more useful to appropriately place the reviewed album within its historical-musical context, possibly enriching the analysis with specific references to other bands. Moreover, your "less detailed" TbT is an even less useful hybrid, as it still lengthens the review without adding any information. Then again, everyone reviews as they see fit. This is just my opinion. Bye.
Righeira The Best

Back in the day, I was really just a kid, but my sister was a sixteen-year-old with a perm who never missed an episode of Super Classifica Show (miaaaaoooooo...), so I can say I at least somewhat "experienced" the Righeira phenomenon. I only know that handful of songs they're famous for, but I must admit I've always found them quite likable, maybe because they knew not to take themselves too seriously. Rece, as usual, is a pleasure to read.
