@ajeje: my intention wasn't to provide the "recipe for the perfect site." Besides, I am completely convinced that the beauty of Debaser lies precisely in its shameless imperfection, unpredictability, sometimes incomprehensibility, informality, badassery, and silliness. I mean, have you seen the site's mascot?! Have you read the reviews (I personally love the one about Paul Oakenfold) that were sent in by G, one of the super dads of Debaser? Anyone who wants to be part of this community and experience a serene Debaser lifestyle must remember where they are and behave accordingly. The top-notch reviewer can't handle the provocations of fakes? User tizio is fed up with seeing entire pages filled with nonsense that has nothing to do with music?! Alas, this is not the place for them. This is the beauty and/or the ugliness of Debaser; take it or leave it. Let’s say it once and for all: this is the price to pay for the (almost) total freedom of expression that is granted to users. Do you want selected reviews? Do you want moderators on every corner? Do you want endless bans for anyone who can't stay in their lane? Do you want to publish your review, which you worked hard on, without the fear that someone will give you a 1 just for the sake of spite? Okay. Then be ready to give up the ranking of human cases, the literary cases section, the wreckage corner, reviews that may not say much about the album but touch your heart. Be ready to give up Nick's editorials, the endless arguments between AlessioIRIDE and Restodelmondo, the envy that sometimes arises when realizing that supersoul knows more about music than anyone else, the JudgeWoodcock who drives some random user crazy, and those afternoons of pure nonsense talking about things that have nothing to do with music. Give up all this, and you will have given up Debaser. Or, as mentioned, let's not complain.

@Giubbo: to tell the truth, three and a half years ago, when I arrived on this site, there were already people saying that "two years ago this was a serious site" and that "debaser is going downhill" etc etc. Personally, I completely disagree (and I say this with the utmost respect for you and those who think like you, I want to clarify that!!!). I don’t believe things were really "better" before. In my opinion, it's just that the number of users has grown tremendously in recent years (with all the positive and negative consequences that this may entail) and there has been a significant turnover of reviewers. It’s true that we’ve lost some "historic voices" (I believe everyone misses Odradek's writings). But it’s also true that we’ve gained others, equally stimulating. I think of Supersoul, JakeChambers, AlessioIRIDE, paloz's latest pieces, and the very recent addition of JacksKellinton. There are confirmations (Mastro Psycho above all) and welcome returns that occasionally pop up (Targetsky, Donjunio, and Lewis Tollani). If then the coprophagous reviews from Il_Paolo rake in comments, praises, and 5-star ratings, who is to blame, if not the users themselves?! If people waste space on the site to let the world know that Marco Carta's album sucks, who should we blame?! Debaser is a mirror of its users. Period. As far as I know, no other site is so "at the mercy" of its visitors, for better or worse. Any potential "revival of the site" (which, I repeat, I don’t think is necessary at all) certainly doesn't start from "top-down" censorship by the editors, but from a more responsible conduct by ALL users, reviewers, and commentators. Let's ALL start to avoid posting avalanches of comments on idiotic reviews. Let's ALL start to regularly submit updated news. Let's ALL avoid sending useless duplicates. Or else let’s not complain. I hope I've been clear... bye!
Clutch Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths

I've never been too fond of Clutch: I've read some rave comments about them, but when I went to listen to them, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Still this stuff?" They have a great groove and are good at churning out riffs, but after a while, they bore me. Great review! ;)

Very well done indeed! Avoid the track by track and you'll always get a 5 from me! ;) Every time I see a new review of Tankard, it brings back memories of my early days as a reviewer! :D! A really great album, not a masterpiece (also because I don't believe there is a Tankard album that can be defined as such..), but truly enjoyable! @Francescobus: I bet this page made you think of the "good old days" when we turned Deb into a branch of thrashland!! :DDD

The reception is good, but the film, to be honest, didn’t feel like the masterpiece everyone says. Alongside some well-executed sequences (I’d say the first one at the station and the one on the roof), in my opinion, there are others that are simply boring.
35007 Into The Void We Travelled

@Luca/Carlo/Flinstone/Aura/nofake: sorry for not replying earlier. Honestly, I was quite torn between completely ignoring your post and responding thoroughly. I decided on a middle ground, avoiding going into the merits of the issue and limiting myself to pointing out that your comment is based on a wrong assumption. Besides the fact that "Subjective and debatable reasons" is certainly not the same thing as "trivial and inexplicable" motivations (not least because of the negative connotation that accompanies the latter pair of adjectives), I believe it is not at all true that the only objective reason for a ban is the violation of the law. Especially in a "limbo" like the internet can be. In any case, I'd like to point out that your very statement serves to legitimize the ban of the user Flinstone, considering that he has at several times threatened death and aggression towards certain users and administrators of the site. I had asked you to name two users banned for trivial and/or inexplicable reasons. In response, you provided the nicknames of: 1) a user whose ban was deemed more than legitimate/comprehensible/welcome by many users (see the comments in the review of Ovosodo); 2) a user who has stated on several occasions that he wants the site to be shut down and who, nevertheless, continues to come back to these pages for about six months, stirring up controversy, annoying other users, threatening the administrators, and insulting pretty much anyone who doesn't suit him. In both cases, I'd say there's no talk of "subjective and debatable reasons". Let alone "trivial or inexplicable motivations". In short: wrong answer. Try again, you'll be luckier. Bye, see you soon.
Witchcraft The Alchemist

Here I am!!! Sorry for showing up only now, but I just got back from vacation! :D! I’ll start by thanking everyone, without exception, and by apologizing for the delay in my response. By the way, I really regret missing the new episode of the Flinstone telenovela... darn it! I’ll jump right into the discussion about the "Orebro groups": 1) Witchcraft: they are the most shamelessly derivative, but in my opinion also the most "fascinating." I really like this album, despite repeated listens, and that’s why I decided to give it a 4: the previous two, after the initial excitement, I let slide a bit and I think that’s a common risk for all these "revivalist" groups. In short, I wanted to reward the greater longevity of the product. 2) Dead Man: I absolutely love them! The first one was good and right, but I’ve been listening to Euphoria nonstop for weeks. It’s far from perfect; in some parts it’s cloying, overly emotional, the vocals aren’t always up to par, and the space interludes are a bit of a mess, yet I can’t stop listening to it! 3) Graveyard: for me, it’s a fantastic album! They might really be the best of the trio. To the previous three, I’ll add the scruffy little brothers: the Burning Savior. Their debut was a bit anonymous and poor, but they didn’t hurt anyone... I recently listened to the latest and found it a huge mess! Really a complete disaster... I’ll give it a couple more listens and then I’ll delete it...

Satoshi Kon Paprika

Very beautiful indeed, but certainly not my favorite by Kon. That title remains Millenium Actress (for which I've been writing the review for months, but if work doesn't even leave me time to take a shit...), as it's more original and "felt." I don't particularly like Kon's characters (especially the mouths, some of which are truly horrendous), but I really appreciate his way of playing with the audience, always bringing them to the edge of confusion, only to pull them back just before losing the narrative thread completely. Review that I tie up as soon as I arrive at the office.

These are the reviews I like the most: short, yet intense, with an excellent balance between suggestion and information. Well done!
