In my opinion, you did very well. You've been busting your chops in here for years: you write reviews of semi-unknown bands, written really well, with great insight, often receiving very few comments and views. You indulged in a little reviewing spree, and you did it well: if we don't let ourselves go too much, this place could become a branch of TV Sorrisi e Canzoni. Good job, PP.

Punny is right: it would take me more time to read the review than to rewatch the "series." A series that, by the way, I never finished watching because I lost the DVD-R on which it was burned for me, and I still haven't felt like downloading it again. I have a very good memory of it...

Just discovered: a little gem. If there had been a summer worthy of the name this year, it should have been listened to in the evenings, on the balcony, enjoying the cool breeze and a good white wine, while a compliant octopus massages your shoulders before settling down on the grill...

Damn, I meant to comment on the first day it was released, and then I completely forgot… A masterpiece album, which has left an indelible mark on my youth thanks to my sister who is 6 years older than me, who made me listen to it until I was inoculated. Every note I've listened to in the last 28 years has been just a quest for the same emotions this record gave me. The only advantage I recognize from being bald is that if I had had hair, I would have styled it like Bon Jovi in the video for Wanted (Dead or Alive).

Alright, but to me "intricate stripes of fog full of scratches dripping the shadowy humors of the night" still sounds like total nonsense...

As has already been pointed out, it's a film that relies almost solely on the performances of McCoughtjrgghstrgs and Leto. Everything else at times seems somewhat haphazard and risks, in at least a couple of sequences, becoming a sort of "Erin Brokovic" that's a bit more cynical and blessed by the absence of Roberts.

Surely one of the most welcome (and unexpected) returns. Especially since you've really been gone for quite a while... Truly happy to read you again. :)

It seemed to me a decent film, which, just to change things up, was celebrated far beyond its actual merits. I must give it credit for being quite enjoyable to watch: the pacing is good and even if the "thriller" aspect is really minimal (let's say that the "culprit" is identified at his first appearance on screen...), it still keeps the attention alive, if only to see how the characters' stories will conclude. Now, when it comes to the characters, there's quite a bit to discuss... Bentivoglio seemed overly caricatured (he's excellent, don't get me wrong, but his character could have had much more depth), Bruni Tedeschi is like that for three-quarters of the film (his is the lowest point in the script with that "come on, let's all have dinner together tonight, so we can talk"). At least a couple of characters are clearly disposed of too superficially: the son (played, by the way, by a rather comical dog) and Golino (who is not explored at all, disappears for half the film, and everyone forgets about her pregnancy...). Paradoxically, the character that is treated best turns out to be Gifuni's: consistent from start to finish, faithful to his capitalist morals (his line: "I don't want to make deals with that idiot to solve our son's problems"). For me, it's a 3.5.

A beautiful film. Slow and delicate, but not cloying. I read some negative reviews about the final scene, but personally, I liked it. Because it's "kind." A great recommendation.
