To be honest, at first I was at the bar! Then I moved over to Mundell's side, but a bit more discreetly because I'm old now and my bladder and my lungs craving for Marlboro can't last through an entire concert anymore. :DD I had seen your de-meeting, but until the last minute I didn't know if I was going or not: besides, that night it was freezing cold, and it was Sunday... Next time, I'll let you know! I promise! ;)

Look, I even planned to write a review of that concert, but then what happened happened, and I let it go. I left home ready to witness an embarrassing concert, something like "Twilight of the Gods," but all in all, they crushed it! They opted for a setlist focusing more on the glorious past than the dull present ("Spine Of God" as the closing track was a real punch!), but above all, they had a great desire to play. Wynford has turned into an outrageous fat guy; he showed up in a nerdy hoodie like Masciarelli in the Giorno&Notte commercial and never took it off. Still, he played the part of a nutcase very well: extinguishing cigarettes on the microphone, hysterical giggles like a sexual maniac... you know, the whole repertoire. In the background, there were projections of 60s-70s comics that I didn’t recognize but somehow they made an impact. In short: it was the first time I saw them live, and I have no point of comparison, but I had a lot of fun!

Ah! By the way, speaking of tackiness: in November, I saw Nebula with Monster Magnet. God... Glass was wearing the same outfit as Jimi Hendrix's uncle at his only daughter's wedding... Something horrifying (I think) in burgundy, with a blue vest and white shirt. Then with those hair all layered on one side... greasy... oh my God! Obscene and beautiful at the same time... :))

But on its own, Charged wouldn't even be that hideous, at least in terms of composition. The problem is that it's super dull: you get to the end and you think, "Alright!.. now let's put on some Church Of Misery or I'm going to want to head to the beach..". This, if nothing else, creates a bit more noise and so it earns a few more points. In the end, I think the problem with Nebula is that in every album they cram in at least a couple of completely useless songs. Maybe that's why the last EP "Heavy Psych" seemed so nice to me: it's only 6-7 tracks, all more or less enjoyable: I'll gladly give it a "4"! :))

Oh my goodness... I think this stuff pairs well with the tresc medal regurgitations that I occasionally bring up... very well done!! :))

Long receipts, but so fluid that reading them is incredibly enjoyable. Compliments. P.S.: a greeting to the hyperuranic Green Manalishi!! I think I haven't wished you well yet!! :))

I agree with you, Doc! I really like Glass: I like the way he sounds, how he dresses, how he carries himself... I've seen him live three times and it's always been a great sight. However, Nebula never quite "breaks through"; they haven't made THE album yet. The only one that's above average, in my opinion, is To The Center, which is the one that's a bit more unique, more "inspired" if you will. I also find Let It Burn, the latest Heavy Psych, really good. The rest are albums that are more (this one) or less (Apollo) valid, but without that je ne sais quoi that makes me want to listen to THAT album specifically. Honestly, I don't know if I'd give a "5" to a Nebula album (except maybe To The Center). Thanks for stopping by! ;)

"Serie B!...Serie B!...White red White red in Serie B!" Paoletto, the part about Stairway to Heaven had me in stitches... 5 just for those two lines!:DDD

@Psycho: I've hardly listened to Diagonal (read: a couple of times while cleaning the house): they're good, don't get me wrong, I believe they could delight any nostalgic for the early King Crimson or something like that (so me too). What I'm not entirely convinced about is their overly "serious" approach, the feeling that they want to create "high" music (see their various jazz-oriented digressions). In any case, it's one of the listens I want to dive deeper into in the coming weeks along with the Psychic Ills. What do you think of White Hills? Rumore has been hyping them up big time for months... I still haven’t managed to listen to their latest!
