Apart from a couple of blunders that would make poor Alia faint (rhetoric, patently obvious), the review isn't bad. However, I was there when this album came out, and frankly, I don’t remember it being heavily criticized. Especially since it was deemed "too modern." In fact, it was voted one of the most important releases of that year by many and was highly appreciated in the metal circles. Similarly, it’s not accurate to say that the band was semi-unknown: Dane had a certain level of fame and respect for his excellent performances with Sanctuary, and in fact, people were curious to hear how his new project would sound. I remember seeing them live opening for Rage: when they kicked off Battle Angels, everyone within a 15-kilometer radius was blown away.
