On Black Masses: I remember that a few months ago the user Algol told me he wanted to think about the review himself, but it seems he has encountered some unforeseen setbacks. As far as I'm concerned, it's a great album that carries forward (and in some ways perfects) the discourse from Witchcult Today: a super seventies cut, "de orore con le donne nude" atmospheres as we lustful Satanists like, and sounds that have definitely crossed the threshold of decency. Debaserianamente, for me it deserves a solid 4 balls. While we're at it, I want to point out to those who don’t know them yet a little Italian band I've recently discovered that I really think deserves attention, Veracrash: beautifully tense stoner, aggressive, with a screechy voice.

Great review, which undeniably has the merit of saying everything that needs to be said in just a few lines. As far as I'm concerned, you should send it out loud and clear. Regarding the proposal: the drone really dries me out. More than once, I've ended up feeling like I've got two taggiasca olives left after listening to one or more drone albums. And since I love taggiasca olives, I guess it's better if I just give it a miss...

Really interesting report, despite what some say about the lack of good music in Italy. Excellent review in terms of structure, length, and effectiveness. Truly well done.

Indeed, in this cover Beyoncé somewhat reminds me of those actress-playmates from the sci-fi movies of the '70s, busty and squeezed into iridescent bodysuits and acrylic fur coats. This makes me miss even more the micro skirts made of ovary fur from the Crazy in Love video (https://www.debaser.it/main/Video.aspx?y=ViwtNLUqkMY), for which I risked on more than one occasion the simultaneous dislocation of both wrists while performing the Sacred Hokuto-Nanto Technique of the "Magical Two-Handed Sword"...

I recently discovered apostolic folk, the one played by Jehovah's Witnesses who ring your doorbell on Sunday morning.

I listened to it and, to be honest, I'm not completely convinced. There are things I like and things I don't. The atmospheres are very good, the crescendos, certain melancholy melodies, but not cloying. Definitely less so the vocal lines (I understand they are a secondary element of the package, but they seem quite lackluster...) and the dynamics: it's as if the tempo changes are poorly managed... like some secondary passages are held too long while more important ones remain in the background. It’s better if I listen to it a few more times before casting my vote.
Frank Zappa Them or Us

More than a master-student relationship, the connection between Zappa and Vai can be likened to that of a master and slave! :) Legends speak of poor Vai being treated terribly by his uncle: constantly criticized for his blues being too "white," forced to play in abysmal physical conditions, held up on stage by two wooden boxes because he was too feverish to stand... :)

Finally, someone who talks about an album by people they actually know with genuine, unfiltered honesty, without any bullshit like: "I met them by chance on MySpace and immediately bought their T-shirt and their entire discography even though they only recorded two tracks on a used cassette and performed only in the bathroom of my high school." Just for that, you deserve a round of applause. The review is a bit wobbly in places, but it showcases sincere enthusiasm and describes the proposal well. A proposal that, by the way, could actually interest me. 5 - for excess - for everything under the sun.

Essential review, just the way I like it. There are a few too many errors and that's a real shame because at several points it can be effective and evocative. Interesting proposal. I think I'll give it a listen even though the genre isn't exactly my cup of tea. Well done.

At times I almost lost you! From your first appearance reviewing on these pages, you became one of my favorites. I haven't really hung around the HC scene much, except for the legendary bands, but the way you describe them makes them a must-listen. Well done. Bring them on strong.
