a splendid gap filled: one of my idols for as long as I can remember (I wanted to write about him... and maybe I will... obviously with another album). SJH must be understood and loved with deep affection and playfulness; as a pianist, he was a charming little dog, the power of his voice is beyond discussion, but it must be understood that without him even the immense Waits would be different today. It seems there was even a site where one could sign up (black and white, without distinction) as children of SJH... He then made some absolute albums...

Yes, my dear young one with serious limitations, the song was from '62, I noticed it too. Lapse, I know, it doesn't happen to you who work while it does happen to us fools. Ah... you know something, anonymous little shit, I've never made an anonymous post, just like, being an Inter fan, I've never been in Serie B. And you, young clueless one without balls (who I’d swear, roughly speaking, is a big ignorant Milan fan)....?? Try to take a break between your wanking sessions and, I don’t know, maybe get yourself off, since that seems to be the only thing you're good at (though I doubt that as well): and, above all, feel like Jovanotti on repeat, that way you keep your mind sharp.

@grass: I was hoping to spark a Tuscan response. Of course, my intention was a provocation: I love Tuscany, its wines, and its beautiful hills and towns. What is undeniable, however, is that both the Tuscans (bless them...) know how to market themselves, while the Piedmontese (like myself, obviously) do not. As for the rest, regarding the widespread idiocy and the strength of the texts and the album, I can only reaffirm what I've already written. Unfortunately, the only limitation of Testa is a noticeable lack of a strong personality. The question is: today, if he had the charisma of a De André or a Battisti, would he be more successful...? today, and I emphasize today? @dave: you evidently don't like my style, and, quoting the incomparable Sassaroli, I suffered like a dog for almost 45 seconds (poetic license).

@evil: the feeling I also experienced: so: announcement...: THIS IS NOT A RECORD BUT A CONCERT. Regardless, thank you for the appreciation, I have always loved Guccio, whom I consider among the 3/4 great authors of the last part of 20th century Italian literature (a lofty declaration, but I am more than convinced... shall we unleash someone...?)

The serious discourse, for those who didn't have diapers back then (obviously), is: did these guys bring something new or even (partially) original to the history of rock? Many were convinced that they did, and there was talk of a new renaissance, with Nirvana seeming like the update of the best psychedelia, Pearl Jam bringing the most interesting sound of the moment (perhaps), the Metallica that no one would dare speak ill of, and a tide of groups straddling the American hard rock of the eighties and the emerging grunge. Very few brainiacs, including yours truly, argued, regularly mocked, that it was fluff squared, if not cubed. Today, with the benefit of hindsight, we can discuss who was right (and I'm not necessarily saying it was me...).

let's not talk about war, emancipation, and prostitution (why not...? are they perhaps solved problems...????)...well, let's talk about love then, a genre in which both Jova and Britti as well as Pezzali should shine, and let's do it with an example: in 1967 Luigi Tenco sang "mi sono innamorato di te...perché...non avevo niente da fare...". Well, regardless of everything, dear senior86, if you think that we've made progress and not regressed since then, every discussion is dead before it even begins (@tom traubert: I completely agree on everything). Ciau.

You would be right, my dear Morrison, but I give my best when I have to face fools, not serious people like you who appreciate and compliment me, completely disarming me... then, these days, the DML (God Minor Work) has been a bit harsh on yours truly, leaving me without energy (plus, my daughter has also come down with a fever...)... so... absence justified... Aside from the personal connotations, though, I am truly glad that you appreciated both the review and the album (which is really beautiful... even more so than others from the same era and subsequent ones).

Jovannotti is indeed intelligent, but this is only an aggravating factor, given the products he creates... extremely poor music and lyrics that are still very much adolescent... if this is the decline of singer-songwriter tradition, long live the death of singer-songwriter tradition (to which people like Jova, Pezzali, Britti, etc., have contributed quite a bit...)

I agree: in fact, I don't deny that the temptation (personal... it’s always a personal matter... no... have you read Puzo?) to upload everything rare I have of Lucio to the shared Emule folder is strong, but – aside from the obligation to those who passed things on to me, strictly by mail – the Battisti family, for me, is one that always reports back, tracks down the IP, and makes your life difficult. Maybe I'm wrong. Or maybe I'm not. So rather than speaking of "selfish and childish" behavior, I would say, at least for me, it’s straightforward, guilty cowardice. On the rest of the argument, you’re right about everything; I would just add to the "barrel" list the Lennon family across the ocean, and the De André family over here... (for now, I emphasize for now, the Gaber and Battisti families are behaving a bit better, reissuing what has already been published and, in the case of Gaber, very difficult to find...)
