Lucio Dalla Classica & Jazz

true...but don't underestimate the dvd "jazz"...that one is really nice: I would have published it (on its own) in the terms I described...you would have seen even the best critics shouting miracles...of this double dvd, however, we noticed it among 3 of us...
Jovanotti Lorenzo 2005: Buon Sangue

As it is a triumph of the subjective, it is a declaration that can obviously be accepted.

@dante: no, of course, and even lately he has done something that is not to be thrown away (we are still, even here, in the realm of the good, not the excellent...: the great Italian cinema was, irreparably, something else, and another). Cheers

@happy: I'm referring to my response (not to the mess that followed...and don't pay attention to that little guy over there, come on...). You’re generally right, and the names you mentioned are the ones I would have mentioned too. But I fear your judgment on WA is tainted by his overproduction. WA, probably for superstitious reasons, has to make a film a year, and he certainly risked overdose with the overexposure of his vices, his stylistic elements, and his classic traits. But he has made, at least for me, 4-5 films that are historical comedies, he created a style (overly copied, effectively founding a school), and he will certainly go down in history (even in comedy). Your opinion, which is partly well-founded and justified, is, in my opinion, tainted by an excess of subjectivism (damn, more than a critic, I might sound like Ratzinger...). Salute and maximum respect (primiballi.blogspot.com)

no fundamentalism, and (at least it seems to me) always a willingness to engage in dialogue. But, it seems to me..., in reality, this doesn't interest you. Amen. (what I truly find superficial, and definitely too widespread, is the generational discourse "ah... how essential are the albums of my youth"... If you read my reviews - but I'm sure you have better ways to spend your time - you will see that I have always emphasized my generational love, admitting it, for some albums, and I have tried objectivity on others). Bah...

@happy: one vote less THAN the first. Obvious. @poletti: I agree with the trio of good films by Verdone (not certainly Compagni di scuola, Dante, which is a trashy take on "Il Grande Freddo", whiny and not even particularly well done... better later, rather...). Troisi was magnificent, but, for me, he was comic theater, not cabaret (there’s an Atlantic distance). Hats off to Benigni: indisputable caricature with perfect comic timing, but, I will repeat infinitely, as a director he does not exist, and the (easy and very American) comparison with Fellini is, at the very least, an insult.
Vasco Rossi Basta Poco

Vasco's strength is that live, even a simple tomato soup would become beautiful, in the memorable pavonian style... it doesn't count. Vasco was a great songwriter. Today, he is an excellent performer and an unmatched manager of himself.

@mike: it's technical in relation to '77... and anyway the technical discussion is misleading. @poletti: well... I have the impression that you're thinking in silos a bit... and why, the "cavalloni" of Leone, after all, aren't just a beautiful and motionless game...? Serious science fiction always seems to me at least a bizarre theory (should we take Douglas Adams and flush him down the toilet...?)
Woody Allen Ombre e nebbia
Voto:
@uxo...: never question the Word of Primiballi (damn... I almost sound like Poletti). I have two copies, one that was published in a magazine (I think it was l'Unità, but I might be mistaken; I need to go dig it up in the countryside...) and another in divx. It may not be entirely correct, but just open e-mule, type "ombre e nebbia," or better yet, "woody allen ita" and the filmography pops up... magic... and for free too. @happypippo: who are the geniuses of cinema? Do comic geniuses exist (excluding Woody, if the answer is yes)? I await your responses.
