neu: should I be afraid to consider him a genius (while at the same time considering your words rather poor and unfounded)? Who is, for you, a genius of Italian songwriting? There isn't one...?

Trane cannot be commercial, nowadays... I'm afraid. Regarding the small doses, it's clear that this is a record to be listened to, not certainly as background music for dinner parties with friends or work... it's something to savor in solitude and silence and darkness, no females around....

What I think of Asia Argento (apart from the slap I would give her right now, resemblance or not...) is that like almost all recent Italian actresses (Golino, Bellucci, etc.), they act so-so, but above all they all, invariably, have terrible voices. Therefore, at the very least, we need the so-called and rare "humility of dubbing"....

everything is perfect: records and reviews. Well done

Yes... some more reflection was in order. The album is both essential and emblematic: today, a work like this (1) would not be produced, (2) if produced and released, it would not be promoted (nobody would believe in it) (3) even if it were promoted, it probably wouldn't sell. I fear. Albums like this or "Don Giovanni" by Battisti would, alas, be incomprehensible today. (But let's rejoice, Pausini has won her third Grammy and Ramazzotti is where Battiato was in '81: in first place). Kisses (disheartened). This applies to many products of the much-criticized eighties (if you're interested in a deep dive into the '80s, and as long as the editors don’t get angry, take a stroll on my blog: link rotto

What I wonder, and I ask YOU, is: is it not possible, pretending that it’s NOT Argento (or rather, who cares...), to take it as trash and laugh for two hours...? If it’s possible, I’m in; otherwise, no.
Clint Eastwood Un Mondo Perfetto

I see there's talk about football... well... as an Inter fan, I'm satisfied... but I would like to discuss Clint, whom I consider a capable but overrated director, as I see little beyond a remarkable schoolboy quality. He was truly a God as an actor, but as a director, he's a great schoolboy, who has made two or three excellent films, but they remain in the realm of excellent craftsmanship, and not art.

I wouldn't confuse the pre-Inferno Silver with the post-Inferno one. Up to a certain point, one of its characteristics could fit in that gray area between trash and kemp. Now it’s the most embarrassing global example of autotrash. I've never said this about anyone, and I generally don't think it, but it really should retire. (And to his daughter, whether she has a face or not, I would gladly give her a little slap...)

truly beautiful record, which neither adds nor detracts from the excellent experience of the DMB. The more time goes by, the more I am convinced that this man here is truly the only great of the '90s (or, at least, the only one who has tried to say something really new...)

excessive self-referentiality forgivable for the age (and also, deep down, quite charming...go figure...). The judgment on the album is completely wrong for me. The discussion around Madonna's "confessions" comes to mind: albums overflowing with eighties references, some not exactly for beginners (but you need to know them, which means being older...), and definitely well-crafted and structured...then, if we want to ask pop for what pop cannot (and shouldn’t...) deliver...
