Eagles Desperado
Voto:
definitely easy...rather...: "stra-easy" (the latest album proves it beyond any reasonable doubt). That said, they are good, even very good. This album is beautiful, one of the best, and "desperado" is one of the most sugary songs in the history of music (and yet people like it...maybe I do too...). link rotto

@tom: Let me clarify. For me, Battiato is always excellent, and I know that's a "Taliban" position. Amen. Within the realm of excellence, however, I have my favorites, which are "La Voce del Padrone," "L'Imboscata," "Il Vuoto," "L'Era del Cinghiale Bianco," and "Patriots," to stay in the top five (though I'd also add, on equal footing, "L'Arca di Noè" and "Orizzonti Perduti").

A record not only beautiful but also important, Battiato succeeds in some interpretations that are certainly not easy. A review as always evanescent (I agree so much with my friend Tom that I even tag him...)

exalted album, even though it’s not in my personal "top five", reception so-so... (I agree, with the utmost respect, with the critique of the "track by track" style)... anyway, happy new year to everyone and kisses

Of course, I thank you more than sincerely for the consolatory comment on my most criticized and most "insulted" review. Time has passed, and I confirm, more goat-like than ever, my idea: this is a great cover album, understood as an act of love not purely (and pathetically) imitative. I would like to know if all those who criticize are not then, occasionally but no less culpably, part of the audience for some clone/tribute band (which is indeed a dramatic phenomenon of this horrible era...). @contemplation: it could also be a cagatone... it all depends on what one thinks of Sting the performer. I hold him in high regard from a strictly technical standpoint (intonation, range, the way he avoids unnecessary Aguillerian gurgles...), even though earlier (when I was younger) I attributed to him a soul that I no longer find... and I've found it elsewhere. He is a brilliant nerd, there's no denying that, and this "round midnight" he performs it in a scholastically and stingishly perfect way...
Ornella Vanoni Una Bellissima Ragazza
Voto:
everyone has the destiny they have, dear Odradek, and mine has always been to be old inside, unfortunately and fortunately. I’ll give you just one example: when I was fifteen, instead of playing soccer and chasing after girls, I played the saxophone in a dance band of forty- and fifty-year-olds, moreover having quite a lot of fun... only to recover certain youthful activities much later, having a blast all over again... still, I see in myself beautiful and terrifying signs of senility (premature?)... there it is...

...annoying...simplistic...bah...in my opinion, you must have read another review... (and for your information, I've been listening to Vanoni for ages, certainly not just now: it's the content of this album that is explicitly and "literarily" about senile loves, but very pleasantly senile...anyway...well, understand what you prefer to understand, which is certainly not a problem)(us old folks are very tolerant...). Kisses from the annoying-simplistic
Woody Allen Stardust Memories

the swinging, the woman’s infatuation with the friend, the return of the old flame... there are plenty of recurring themes in Allen's filmography... but this takes nothing away at all.
