But how, trout, do you pretend not to remember that we both lost our virility while listening to Bruce's cassette on my Diane, all tangled up...? That's when we became the happy asses we are today... why are you ashamed of it, my love?

@enior86: thank you. We think basically the same way. The great ones, barring a few rare cases (which won't stand the test of time), are almost never great by chance. A fart from Macca is better than the best song by Oasis. And U2, even in their minor works (certainly the penultimate two), are definitely better than many others in terms of composition, interpretation, and the concept and originality of the work. Here the leap is even higher. There are too many criticisms based on prejudice/envy (many of the hysterical critics on these pages and others, surely stressed musicians, if they sold millions of copies of their little songs sitting in a drawer, bet they would be selling out on MTV longing for a duet with Rihanna...?). Kisses

As always, I agree: "Don’t teach the children" is an absolute masterpiece. The perfect song. It's tragically comical to see the Dwarf solemn at G's funeral when it was being broadcast. A sign of the times.

You know, dear Gustavino, how I feel: it's an average quality (high) record from the Prof, but I certainly wouldn't count it among the best... you place it above Rotary, just to be clear: for me, at that level, it’s a 9 overall, and a 7 in relation to the masterpieces of Our. Kisses

disc, as always, splendid. But, as you know, my weakness and my bias towards Our is well-known (and here amply proven....). Kisses

"I believe it is the routine as such (including work) that prevents the average individual from shaking off the mediocrity of common thought": well, Lux, I see it the opposite way. The work routine is an absolute good, the engine of every night genius and outlet. Coming home and instead of dedicating time to oneself (and the few things that matter), turning on the TV is, on the other hand, an absolute evil. Average individual and mediocrity, very heavy words. Talking about it to take for granted that one is out of it. Incongruous like an intelligence test, devised by those who believe they are very much so... bah... let’s cultivate some doubt, shall we, as it might do us good. Kisses
