Chet Baker & Enrico Pieranunzi The Heart Of The Ballad

I apologize: with your interpretation the two artists are objectively incomparable, no doubt about it (I would historically compare Miles to Mozart, mutatis mutandis). However, this doesn't mean that subjectively - it's obvious - everything is possible (I have a friend for whom the greatest of all time is Clifford Brown...who...by sheer fate, is objectively incomparable with anyone or almost anyone).

Thank you! Limited instrumentalist it remains, despite the album, which, I confirm, is a great success for me. Especially in the atmospheres.

Even though I am extremely passionate about jazz and similar projects/products, forgive me, but I can't seem to get excited about contemporary female vocalese. Hearing this and other "rated" voices does nothing for me, leaving me with an ancient nostalgia for Lady Day and her immortal contemporaries... Then the excess of intellectualization here is frankly annoying... but do you have any idea about the minimalist melancholy of Tenco...??? There you go.

Congratulations in advance for reviewing an almost unreviewable album. Yes, because KJ has explored all the avenues of modern piano so far, always in a grand and original manner. This is not, in my opinion, his masterpiece for solo piano, but it is nevertheless a very interesting work and a testament to the touch of an immortal Master, whose albums are and will always be assessed with absolute subjectivity. Just to say, for me, definitely after Cologne, Vienna, and Paris. Probably before La Scala and on par with the others... but, I repeat, it’s the ecstasy of the subjective.

a great group of true classy piano bar. words like soul or jazz have ALWAYS been wasted on the SR... what a pity, because MH's vocal abilities are undoubtedly very high. thus, in my opinion, this is yet another step forward in a traditional line of pleasant cheesiness...

It's a pity that every potential interesting discussion ends up in ridiculously childish dialogues from low-level forums. Luckily, sometimes Debaser is something else... but go to the chatrooms to engage in your (pseudo)thought masturbation, you idiots...

dear puniscie, I increasingly agree with you. should I be worried...? anyway, I find your latest tirade completely understandable and well-written. I, old in feelings, continue to care for Blasco, like one cares for a child who has taken a wrong path (not drugs... perhaps playing the stock market... rather...). kisses

but Maria... I think Vasco is coming home now, putting on his tie, and doing online trading... who knows...

For me, this "posthumous" live is truly beautiful, sincere, heartfelt, and full of lust. It’s an ultra-direct recording, made for the radio, which is the complete opposite of the highly polished last live of the Band...

a fundamental record in any self-respecting jazz club. Among the collaborations, the one in the old live Sciò by Pino Daniele is definitely more exciting...: a spine-tingling solo on "Chi tene o mare." One of the highest moments for both, in my opinion. In unsuspecting times...
