Ivano Fossati Lindbergh (Lettere da sopra la pioggia)

What I say about the "folk song" is that it is a song as beautiful as it is aesthetically simple, but within the context of an exceptional album, it somewhat disappears (as often happens with many singles...)

mirador: I have the pleasure of reading your kind nonsense only today. If you could kindly, by awakening the dormant cerebral mechanism, tell me where you understood that I made a ranking... thank you...

good mullah...: for me too ferry boat is a kind of spiritual testament...
Vinicio Capossela Ovunque Proteggi

The distance is between homage and plagiarism: let's say that the great Vinicio is sometimes walking a fine line (a bit too far beyond mere affinity...)... but he mediates with great intelligence and unbelievable talent... thus acquitted with full formula.
Pino Daniele Vai Mo'

well done: absolutely right and totally agree. the album is nothing short of wonderful (but that was a golden era, and Pino has made at least 5 or 6 masterpieces like this…). go read my review of the latest Pino, I think you'll agree...
Vinicio Capossela Ovunque Proteggi

the beam could only be compared to a splinter, but love is fine too... and it's even more romantic... I don't know how else to express it: Capossela is a genius, and this album is undoubtedly beautiful, but that "nel blu" relates to "nel blu dipinto di blu" just as "I'll take New York" does to "New York New York" is quite obvious and something even VC would certainly admit. It might even be considered a cultured reference, if not overly sophisticated... however... one must know what we’re talking about... and that’s exactly why I won’t say it...(and, guys, just to be clear, one is always free to say "I listen to Capossela and I don’t give a damn about Waits," but at least don’t come lecturing those who have been digesting Waits for over twenty years...)

It's not a matter of lacking imagination...I have the feeling that those who criticize the similarities to Waits (from what they say and how they say it) know very little about Waits's work; otherwise, they would recognize, even in this small masterpiece that is "ovunque proteggi," the many implicit references and the (at least) two explicit quotations from the great Tom. It's as if they believe that Capossela cannot be great while being inspired by Waits, which is a misunderstanding; those who deny the similarities do so out of too much love and, perhaps, a bit of ignorance...
Pieranunzi / Johnson / Baron Play Morricone 1

absolute honor to Pieranunzi, probably the best we have today in Italy. I also know both Special Encounter and the latest with Jim Hall (speaking of recent stuff). I don’t have this one, and it greatly stimulates my desire to purchase it...thank you
Francesco De Gregori Titanic

beautiful album...even if personally I wouldn't rank it among the top three (but among the so-called five fundamental works of The Punisher...probably yes). now the Prince, a year later, already has the new album ready for mid-February...what to think...?
Bruce Springsteen 18 Tracks

very nice, although the gimmick of including two unreleased tracks not present in the box is a bit dishonest... anyway... everyone would love to have a "bottom of the barrel" like this...
