Bruce Springsteen Darkness On The Edge Of Town

I'm really enthusiastic... I agree that it's the most beautiful album from the Boss... in history, well... I have some doubts (I swear: doubts) I would have... anyway...

nice the learned comment on intellectual comments... but what is this character doing in a discussion about Fossati...??? come on, dude, run, you might be missing some gem from Calderoli or his band leader...

I believe the first two are fundamental...almost a double ideal. No man's land is very beautiful, indeed, but beautiful, come on..., everyone is there! It's the judgment on Pezzi's sound that I find, personally, unendorsable. On the contrary...: as ethereal and "dreamy" as this latter is, the former was very direct and Dylan-esque. Anyway, opinions (sure...in Scacchi there's something a bit more redeemable...listen to it again, go on...)

Dear gypsy, beyond the invitation to listen to Pezzi, which I think is excellent, I fear that your judgment is generational (from '87...?). If we take the Prince in the absolute best, for me it runs from the debut to W L'Italia, although I, generationally, love Scacchi&Tarocchi a lot... this, as I've written, is neither beautiful nor ugly, it is, given that we are in 2006, a little gem.

In all the other reviews, I've wasted too many words: a piece of shit character making records of the same substance. Pardòn.
Tom Waits The Heart Of Saturday Night

beautiful record, but I'll repeat what I've said elsewhere: for me TW artistically begins with the symbolic Small Change (from there to Bone Machine it's all gold... even more...)
Riccardo Cocciante Concerto Per Margherita

it's not the only great "light" album by Cocciante. for me, the latest Songs is definitely up to par as well. what I've never loved is the musical-operatic drift (for him as for others, including Waters... but perhaps that's my problem...). it's not fair to say that one prefers another singer-songwriter style... because, at least according to the traditionally accepted definition, this isn't singer-songwriter music. RC is a great interpreter, a beautiful voice, a good composer of music, unfortunately a bit harmonically repetitive, who sometimes has beautiful lyrics written for him (sometimes less...).
Fabrizio De André Canzoni

beautiful review: this album is proof that a genius remains such, even in obviously minor works (like this one). I have to say that the album has always fascinated me a lot. I find a very beautiful, very ethereal atmosphere in it. it's certainly not among the five great albums of Faber, but it's still the album that a pathetic little British school singer-songwriter will never make...

for grasshopper: for me, listening to this integrates perfectly with Pezzi, a bit, mutatis mutandis, as if it were a double like Nick Cave's latest double, with the hard disk and the soft one... I partially share the criticisms (in the part, implicit or explicit, where it is said that essentially De Gregori has nothing more to say) but not entirely (where it is said, implicitly or not, that he should no longer say anything). I am now convinced that outside of the great masterpieces, we must thank Odin that every now and then some great singer-songwriter from the old and better school lets us know that he still exists and that there’s always a craft to be found, often as a surplus. for morningstar: let’s not belittle the great Vinicio...: he has sixteen years of career, not ten (even if this doesn't change the argument... starting a musical career in '73 was very different....: the point is: was it easier or harder...???).

So... the album I listen to the most and like more each time... the temporal closeness demands a comparison with "Pezzi"... well, for me, they are two albums perfectly exemplifying the two souls of the Prince. Here, I find him more relaxed and inspired, rather than self-congratulatory. They seem like pieces written in a rush by an artist still full of inspiration... but I admit I might be a bit biased. As for the Capossela/Waits DeGregori/Dylan parallel, I've already pointed it out elsewhere, and I agree with it to the same extent (a great lesson for students who no longer have anything to envy from the masters)... but I would say that the excellent Vinicio doesn’t have over thirty years of career behind him... or does he... (can we give a suspended judgment to one and a definitive promotion to the other...?)
