Paolo Conte Live Arena di Verona
Voto:
so...: less than Concerti, obviously. on par with Tournee2, a little better than Tournee and Live. if he had only released concerts like Live, would anything have changed...? probably not. if he had made fewer studio albums...? probably yes. however, I’m glad to have found someone who thinks the sechcioncelli that accompany him are a bit "secchini" (the definition is nice too).

God, what a pity...

I’m stepping in a bit late to share my thoughts...: this is definitely a well-crafted album, like everything from Pink Floyd, but I don’t consider it the best of the Gilmour era. The previous and the following one (....??? like....? Yes, for me On An Island is still from that "factory" there) are superior. However, it’s clear that Gilmour really loves The Division Bell, otherwise he wouldn’t include three tracks from it in this tour (versus the inexplicable 0 from Momentary...). Anyway, it’s a product of great quality in terms of composition and interpretation, and success isn’t always a flaw.

Some tracks (especially the title track) seem like wonderful previously unreleased gems from the Black Album... indeed, Prince hasn't been this in form for a long time. Strange, very strange. Anyway, let's enjoy. If I had to point out two other must-have albums from Graffiti Bridge to now, I'd say Gold and One Nite Alone (the studio album, not the live one), but really, everything, especially with the Prince, is exceedingly subjective...

For me, it's the "usual" good album by Zucchero. Neither more nor (absolutely) less. The egg out of the basket, for me, he did it with Blue, the one before, a truly exceptional record, unique (in my opinion, I repeat) an absolute masterpiece of the Zucchero discography, although the average of the other albums remains very high.
Giorgia MTV Unplugged
Voto:
I listened to the album and read the review (which isn’t badly written, but that’s not the point). If I believe that Giorgia is a soulless school imitator, and that before judging her positively one must be well, if not very well, acquainted with all the high references, am I committing a crime...? It's not much of a defense to say that those who criticize haven’t read or don’t know; it’s a pure example of "benaltrismo." In any case, the conclusion is always the same: tastes are tastes, but if someone says that Britti is a great songwriter, I dispute that, just as I would if someone says that Giorgia is, fundamentally, a great singer (for great singers, even in Italy, we should look elsewhere). Salùt (without insults).

It would be nice to have heated conversations as well, but at least relevant ones held between prepared people...often that doesn't happen here. It's democracy, baby... and that's okay.
Paolo Conte Elegia
Voto:
for alfo: elegy is a masterpiece ONLY if examined "hic et nunc". it is not a masterpiece in absolute terms...that, rather, is "Paris MIlonga". I share everything you said. the "bad" remark I made here, as elsewhere, refers exclusively to the "professority" of these leftovers from conservatories that are being paraded around now. very human stuff, but very, very far from jazz, at least as I understand it (Marangolo, Villotti, Bandini...those are very jazz figures...)

even Houston and Carey (besides being stunning babes, back then...) were clones of others, much better ones. but the Italiota clone of Whitney has always been, frankly, unbearable. not to mention overrated. such a pity. then...for goodness' sake...de gustibus...(there were also Christian fans...once...)
