Lucio Battisti Il Gabbianone
Voto:
There are many traces of del Gabbianone, for a long time. It is definitely a product of Don Giovanni or de L'Apparenza (more likely the former). I have a copy of the master in the studio (as with all the other unreleased tracks, after all) and it is indeed the most beautiful Panellian unreleased track of all time, perhaps one of the most beautiful songs ever by the duo. More than anything, even a Battistiano black belt tenth dan like me knows nothing about the supposed last unreleased non-Panellian album (likely a sequel to E Già)...you...?
Pino Daniele, Francesco De Gregori, Ron, Fiorella Mannoia In Tour
Voto:
Tom: basically agree, but not all of De Gregori's live performances are to be discarded... come on... and many versions of the same songs are complementary (of course... here and there there's some slight redundancy... but the vitality of the Prince is still a pro, not a con)

Well done: you’ve tackled one of my all-time favorite records, and you did it well. Truly a must-experience work that cannot be overlooked.

I don't completely agree, while obviously respecting him, with Poletti: De Gregori no longer produces masterpieces, but he still possesses a rare compositional/literary ability and has never made truly bad records. Pino is good until Ferry Boat. Ron made absolutely worthy albums until the end of the '80s, and Fiorella, objectively and said with affection, is a bit of a luxury piano bar artist...(at least that's my opinion). Regarding the project, I reiterate what I've said: the fun was genuine, the project was modest, and there is indeed symbolism in a work like this...

well...but....
The Police Synchronicity
Voto:
Oh my God, what a discussion... but is there still someone who wants to deny that the Police are one of the very few groups that have innovated sound and composition, turning the page in the history of pop rock...? crazy... the declared superiority of XTC is typical of the niche enthusiast... let’s bet that Syd is better than David and so on...??? (and maybe I'm the best of all but I'm a misunderstood genius...???) come on... it’s unbelievable that there are still people who think selling is a mortal sin... (guys: one sells shit and chocolate, you just have to know how to distinguish tastes...)

Paolo Conte Live @ Arena Flegrea, Napoli - 05/09/2006
Voto:
Sabatino... you're good, but the dreams of the listener are a criterion that could make anything beautiful... Conte has been and is (Elegia is beautiful... check out my review) a giant, but "Paris milonga" in the studio and "£Concerti" live are far-off, and better times. I repeat: even though he remains an absolute giant.
Vinicio Capossela Live in Volvo
Voto:
Trucido: I agree, for me it's better in the studio; there's more depth and exploration of every thought, both musical and literary. However, I don't agree with the (very subjective, of course...) ranking: for me "Ovunque proteggi" is superior to "Canzoni a manovella," albeit by a slim margin...
Edoardo Bennato e Alex Britti Notte di mezz'estate
Voto:
pibroch: thank goodness we’re not the only ones on the same wavelength... but tell me: how do you still manage to listen to the old Bennato...? it feels like having to trust Lapo again when it comes to women… (I can’t do it, with Edo: maybe I’m just too bitter…???)
