Paul Simon So Beautiful Or So What

Very true... and that's why I say, on one hand, that it would be good to appreciate good craftsmanship (of course, only when it actually exists...), while on the other hand, it would be just as good not to get overly excited about phenomena that falter at the second note (again, no reference to you or your group, generally speaking)... I realized that something was over when across the Channel everyone went wild for the overrated Oasis, and over here people started believing that Jovanotti was a singer-songwriter...

@woodstock: ok, true, I apologize, sometimes I take for granted things that aren’t: two of my classics, written and thought about obsessively, are the death of privacy (which is not really relevant here) and the death of false modesty (which is indeed relevant here)... I’m not referring to you (I don’t know you, I’ll read you to get to know you better), but the world, and Italy in particular, is a masterpiece of rampant hypocrisy, where everyone seems to be like Mary Goretti and then turns out to be predator sharks... I say loud and clear what I believe I am: without any false modesty, and trust me, if someone tells me that a review or a book sucks, it really gets to me and I reread it a thousand times. That’s just how I am...

"returned," whether for those who appreciated it (the majority) or for those who did not (the minority), is nonetheless a strong word....: this review is like testing old ground, and like that clandestine afternoon romp with an ex.... never say never, in one way or another... the discussion I enjoy is messiaen.... but I digress (those who know me are aware, so woodstok is pleased...: it would be nice to know your parameters for widespread knowledge, you VIP akin to none ;)... let's say that with a ton of friends, quite a few colleagues, three bands, and three published books, someone knows me.... certainly, less than giovanardi and simona ventura, your obvious reference points?....) I digress, I was saying, into the usual old discourse: mass quality. That messiaen is crap is obviously a provocative statement, I don’t believe it and I apologize to the enthusiasts; I only say that mozart represents a very high quality that has reached everyone. Kisses, as always, and thanks to everyone who has given compliments and appreciated.

the cobra was a beautiful piece, you understand like fellini... Anyway, having taken my minchione (guys, I can't stand the league, but I prefer Padanian insults... for example: pirla is splendid), you convinced me, especially regarding the fact that DeB is not for old-timers like me, or at least he’s not anymore... I had been pondering this for a while, but thank you, really (I’m not joking) for making the choice easier for me... a bit like finding your wife in bed with another (obviously younger)... you suffer like a dog for almost 45 minutes, but then you know what a relief it is. Good music, brothers, and adios.

even this condemnation for old age, you do not realize how superficial and rhetorical it is (also here: in antiquity, long before me, the old were revered, now mandatory youthfulness is taking on such ridiculous and media-driven effects that you don’t even notice it...). @puntini:saying that Fellini used ridiculous techniques only reinforces my entire argument, and if you don’t understand what I mean here’s another confirmation: so, guys, young is beautiful, come on, even if where we once had Pavese we now have Moccia, where Fellini we have Pieraccioni now, where De Andrè we now have Biondi (and not Brondi...: the lights of the power plant, like it or not, are objectively niche and unfortunately do not make an impact): let’s get together

@nes, long live synthesis, which I enthusiastically endorse. However, you are wrong about the grandmother; due to the work I do, I know many young people, I have a 25-year-old sister, and I understand her environment. Forgive me, and this is not local pride, but regarding our country's culture (I mean at least from the post-war period to today, from Pavese to De Andrè, from Fellini to Moretti, just to name a few, while considering the quality of the masses), they know an absolute damn nothing. I swear to you that every morning I wake up hoping to be proven wrong, because, despite everything (that everything which often appears too much), I love my country. Still. And it pains me to see it like this... Kisses

dots: the problem with today's kids is that they have everything at their fingertips (not just music, but also cinema and now literature) and they don't know a damn thing. The issue is this: mass quality shapes the culture of a people, niche quality does not. And the masses, alas, seem to prefer to devour a harmful episode of xfactor rather than a good record by Conte...

Sorry Elisa, who I personally don't love and don't find as talented as she’s portrayed, and Biondi who is pure fluff, the youngest of the good ones you mentioned is 50 years old... while the ones in the '70s-'80s charts were all between 20 and 30 (and they were partly the same)... the same...? the cosità (for a complicated Freudian mental mechanism) is society, excuse me

oh no...iside, we’re not on the same page: at least police, queen, wonder, etc... THEY WERE THERE!!!! That’s the point. What is, today, the mass quality? Come on, it’s not a difficult question. Not niche quality and not a bunch of crap: the mass quality of 2010. If you respond with data, I will never deny you’re right. But, in my opinion, in the last 15 years, mass quality has been disappearing (and I would say the signs, in the cosità, are very clear...). I’m waiting. Kisses
