I won't comment on the review because it seems completely unnecessary... instead, I find the discussion between Poletti and Ajeje interesting, and I want to linger on it a bit: I completely agree with Ajeje when he says that not appreciating this film by Lynch while appreciating others is a bit like not appreciating VU&Nico and claiming to be a fan of the Velvet; I also agree with the very accurate observation about Greenaway and visual cinema... however, I would add that Lost Highway is much more than that. First of all, IT HAS A PLOT, even though the concept of a plot is relative and thus a bit difficult to define here in a couple of lines; it is absolutely not a film made "just" of images. Secondly, IT GOES DEEP into the analysis of the human psyche, of its subconscious, and for this reason alone, it cannot be dismissed as "nonsense." Thirdly, and not least, it is cinematographically perfect... there is a study of rhythms, timings, sequences, of everything... nothing is by chance, every detail is meticulously crafted, everything is a symbol, a reference to something else... it is only by grasping these symbols, shifting the film's meaning to another level, that one can definitively understand it. In closing, a few words on the matter of "the best film of the '90s"... I don't believe there exists the best film of any era, I don't think one can create a ranking or simply make qualitative comparisons... it can undoubtedly be said, however, that this is a masterpiece.

Well... commenting on the film is totally superfluous for me... I mean: 5 obviously. 5, 6, 7... whatever you like. Analyzing the film (which is another thing, in my opinion) would require a treatise, so it's neither the place nor the time... I'll just focus on the comments that have preceded me and I notice a tendency that belongs to de-baser, which was latent until some time ago, but is now more than explicit: everyone is trying to assert their presence and build a "character" and this ego struggle oozes from all the recent pages of the site.
I'm not talking about the reviewer or anyone in particular, I just notice a sort of ego guerrilla that often drags itself from one review to another senselessly.
I know it's a fairly common trend when talking about the virtual world (it's muuuuuch easier to assert oneself when you're not putting your face behind the words), but it's a bit tiresome to swallow; at least do it with a bit of irony, some jokes... I don’t know. It's always happened and it always will, but style matters... it really does.

just to tell primiballi that I completely disagree with his assessment of the '90s...but it would be worth opening a discussion that wouldn’t quite fit under a review of (these were) forgettable Oasis...

...in short, no one is sticking their neck out for poor Paolino. Well, I'll take care of it. So, the song is what it is, little to nothing. The operation may have been a bit cumbersome, that's true. But I believe there was also some good faith involved, from everyone. I think it was meant to be a tribute to Rino (the methods are debatable, and up to this point...) and not an exploitation. Also because, let’s be clear, this song (which in three months will return to where it came from, that is, from a drawer) isn’t going to shift the economic balances of ours, or those involved in the operation. I hope for them that they can afford to do something like this in absolute good faith. The fact remains that the result is what it is: a little song with no head or tail. Well... come on... but let's not be so prissy! It takes irony, Rino was the first to be convinced of that!
