Jakob Dylan is not a manufactured product. If he were, he would have: 1) released solo albums and capitalized on his surname; 2) released a debut album with different sounds, easy and consumable, songs that are 3-minutes-sometimes-4 and not 7-minute rides sometimes 8, acid and suspended in emptiness; 3) just because you know he’s Dylan’s son doesn’t mean he writes lousy music just for not being like his father. That said, the albums that follow this one suck, children of Bruce Springsteen and Loredana Berté, but this, this album is beautiful. Very beautiful. And it doesn’t suck at all, not even for distant great-grandchildren! And I’m attached to it (I was under twenty...)
