the real ramona let's see who among us is the bigger fan of david pajo. I challenge you. Come to London for the concert of the year (well, maybe - there's the Low one in May - we'll see): Papa M live is going to rock the house: April 30, 2007, the venue is really cult "Cargo", London. I already bought my ticket. What about you? ;) I asked everyone, but apparently I’ve understood that none of my friends gives a - pardon my French - damn about David Pajo. Respectable opinion, of course, I still love them although at "Cargo" they only come with me to get high when LCD Soundsystem plays. Or maybe you like Clinic? April 11 at La Scala. You pay for the ticket, I’ll buy the drinks. Or maybe you want to get high? Or maybe you like Low? Alright, the beautiful season has begun, the dark times are over :)

Well, it’s understandable that they have something against Zulù; I don’t care about him, Meg, or the 99 Posse either. Back in the day, I was already to the left of Zulù, just imagine today. However, the experience of the antagonistic groups in Naples in the early '90s is, as far as I’m concerned, a unique and unrepeatable experience. For anyone who was a leftist teenager in the vibrant Naples of those years, the memories are incredibly strong. How many concerts did I see? 10? 20? You lose count; they played every week, at Officina 99 the dreams were equal only to the little bags of weed, and both were of good quality. Anyway, the only thing I want to emphasize is that, as Dostoevsky said, man always prefers to remember the traitors illuminated by the spotlight rather than the consistent ones forgotten by everyone. The Bisca have remained faithful to all that imagery that we all fed on (with purity or malice, like in all utopias), and even today, they produce honest records that I’m always glad to hear about. Maglietta and Cient Gramm (the two Bisca) are people – despite their weaknesses and slight inconsistencies, like everyone – who have stayed true to themselves and still sing the same things because they wouldn’t know what else to sing. I was in Naples a few days ago, and I happened to listen at an old friend's house to the new album by Daniele Sepe, something I hadn’t listened to in at least 10 years, but he was singing about the years of lead. There was this song, ā€œCome in comaā€ (I think that’s what it was called), which I really liked, about a pure-hearted boy who imagines a better world than this, then goes into a coma, and when he wakes up 30 years later, he can’t believe ā€œthis shitty world.ā€ Who talks about Daniele Sepe? No one. You talk about Zulù because it’s easy, but who cares about Zulù? I'm interested in the positive characters, those without an expiration date, not the expired ones! Sorry for the long digression ;)
