LA RECENSIONE

Let me start by saying that I listened to this album when I was eighteen.

Let me start by saying that I have the entire discography of 99 Posse.

Let me start by saying that I consider them too extreme and I no longer identify with their lyrics.

Let me start by saying that before this review, I hadn't listened to their music in years.

Let me start by saying that I am not from Naples.

Let me start by saying that I don't love the Neapolitan dialect.

Despite everything, I consider this to be a good album…

It's a snapshot of a period, the coalition between Bisca and 99 Posse, which produced something good, that goes beyond the politicization of music…

It was good music…

Listen to it with the ears of when you were young and you truly believed in something different, probably very wrong, but surely you were in good faith…

Probably O Zulù wasn't consistent… But maybe you were… You believed in it… So the rest doesn't matter…

Idiocy sounds like swallowing

as if to say it's trying to swallow you

belittle you, make you disappear,

or it tries to flatter you

make you feel different, different from what you are

Summary by Bot

The reviewer reflects nostalgically on 99 Posse's Incredibile Opposizione Tour, appreciating the album as a snapshot of youthful idealism and political passion despite personal distance from its themes. Though no longer aligned with the group’s extreme lyrics or dialect, the music retains its value and emotional resonance as a symbol of believing in something different.

99 Posse

Neapolitan music collective blending hip hop, dub and reggae with explicit left-wing political activism; sung in Italian and Neapolitan, notable for energetic live shows and activist stance.
