Suede Dog Man Star
Voto:
The Suede are my favorite English band from the 90s, and this album is spectacular. I love it viscerally—the music, the lyrics, the atmospheres... everything so decadent, sick, and yet romantic. And then there's Anderson, an exceptional singer (at that time, only Jarvis Cocker was on his level), someone who truly knows what it means to interpret a song.
Very nice review... but I really think this is the Suede album that deserves 5 stars!

I have always preferred (perhaps because I still feel this one is a bit unripe) the successor and also Universal Mother, but The Lion And The Cobra is undoubtedly the album where Sinead showcases everything she can do with her voice and the styles she can tackle (every now and then she should listen to it again to remind herself).
By the way, does anyone have news about the release of the new Theology!? We haven't heard anything more...

I would say it could be among my top 10 favorite albums...beautiful!
Stevie Wonder Songs In The Key Of Life

Well, words are not enough... one of the most beautiful records I know, but I’m sorry not to see Joy Inside My Tears mentioned, perhaps one of the most emotional and engaging pieces by Wonder. In the edition I have, though, Ebony Eyes is found on the second CD; how come?

I almost forgot the grades!

At the time of its release, I really liked this album; it reassured me after the painful experience of To Venus And Back... However, today I find myself listening to it less and less; it is really too monochord and homogeneous. The melodies and her voice are always very beautiful, but often it falls into mannerism; there is too much smoothness. She no longer surprises like she used to, and it seems that by this album she has definitively lost that emotional tension that characterized the masterpieces of the past.
For heaven's sake, the album is still pleasant (at most a bit "sleepy"), the concept that underpins it is fascinating, and it is still definitely superior to the subsequent Beekeeper!

It's their album that I prefer... maybe some of the guitar arrangements could have been a bit smoother, but in the end, it's fine as it is. Neil Finn is undoubtedly one of the greatest pop songwriters, but unfortunately, few people remember that... perhaps this review can help. P.S.: I would also mention "Catherine Wheels," written with his brother Tim, which in my opinion is the true masterpiece of the album.

I know it's cliché, but this is my favorite album of theirs...old and wise, mammagamma, the title track, gemini, one great song after another, beautiful and the review is lovely.
Prince One Nite Alone Live!

Unfortunately, I don't own this album; it's too hard to find... but the review is beautiful, and I agree with everything you say! Unfortunately, my "live" knowledge of Prince is based solely on various footage from past tours; who knows, maybe one day I'll actually get to see him live!
P.S.: I believe that Prince, especially here in Italy, is very underrated... the idea people have of him and his music is often very distorted and tied to that handful of singles that made it big on the charts here as well.
