It doesn't strike me as a masterpiece, but still a good album... anyway, "paschendale" is truly fantastic, almost moving... maybe it doesn't say anything new, but come on, it's beautiful...

Well said metalkalko... as I always say, I’m on the left too, but that doesn’t change the fact that I like Manowar despite their political views... I have almost all their albums, and I’ve liked them all... I bought this one yesterday... it doesn’t seem bad, but I can’t stand “the fight for freedom,” it’s too pro-America post 9/11, I can’t take it... but in the other Manowar songs, there are hardly ever political references like this one... it’s always about metalheads exterminating posers and wannabes, with a nice medieval backdrop (yes, the enemies in the songs are probably indeed the wannabes and posers)... if they don’t take themselves too seriously, it can even be a laugh... aside from these things which are just sideshow stuff, Manowar are really technically brilliant... Eric Adams is 40 years old, but how he still sings! Musically, they are subjectively very engaging... the epic is really beautiful... they’re right-wing, I wouldn’t offer them dinner, but I find their music (not the lyrics, even though they fit the Conan the Barbarian atmosphere) fantastic... criticize that, because criticizing the 4 kings, their pomposity, their right-wing ideas, their covers, their lyrics is like shooting at the Red Cross. Not listening to them just for these trivial things outside the music is like not listening to Wagner or not reading Nietzsche because they were liked by the Nazis... I like them, and I’m not exactly right-wing. To get back to the album, I’m not convinced by the too numerous fillers and covers, even if they are beautiful... “Nessun dorma” makes you laugh for the terrible pronunciation, but Eric's vocal performance is fantastic... I don't like the review, it feels too much like a grocery list... no offense intended, of course, I don’t think I’m much better at writing :)

More than a positive comment, it sounds like hormones... there’s a substantial difference between hormonal issues and musical ones... maybe the first one could be okay (who knows), but the second... anyway, you like it, fine, but if you don’t explain why... aside from the hormonal aspect... I don’t like it because it keeps repeating worn-out formulas, without a hint of originality... and why do you like it?
