Hear what Kaurismaki says about the film: "It seems to me that British directors can no longer make old-style English comedies. So I went and made one myself... I have always wanted to make a film in the classic style of British studios, but I didn't want to shoot it in a studio. When I was eight years old, I saw a film called Last Holiday. It has stayed in my mind for twenty-four years, and now I wanted to free my mind from this ghost. I would have liked to have Alec Guinness as the lead in my film" - He chose Leaud, and he couldn't have chosen better.

The cello, a Montagnana, was actually purchased by some wealthy Jews; I can’t remember if they were American or living in Israel, and perhaps it was a sort of "loan" because I seem to recall Maisky telling me that it wasn't exactly a gift... Drawing from my finances, I couldn't even donate the case. - Instead, I prefer "The Man Who..." to "The Lady..." Even though Fanny’s charm in that film continued to "echo" far beyond the threshold of the cinema... - I loved Leaud, many years later, where I would not have expected to find him in a film I enjoyed a lot, the Italian title sounded like "I Hired a Contract Killer," by Aki Kaurismäki, 1990.

Good page, good record. There is also a review of "The Living Road" (less exhaustive than this one regarding the musician's story) that doesn't appear because it is attributed to Lhasa. Can this be fixed, gentlemen editors?

Well, I couldn't hear the little bits at more info, so I got the CD. It's starting to spin now, at a volume that's a bit too low. I'll pass by one of these days to tell you the stars I would give it. Cheers.

Well, I find a similarity in the fact that one is "God," and for the Pixies, it's "Monkey Gone To Heaven."

The reasons you hypothesize are of little interest to me. I therefore avoided, at the time, even considering the idea of trying to identify them. His business. I believe it is not about passing sentences of condemnation or acquittal, which would sound farcical and ridiculous. However, one can express their own opinion, I think. - I inform you that the young man, caught red-handed, has recently admitted to several "plagiarisms," and with a sort of farewell this time sincere and a bit gloomy, he seems to have left the "scene," admitting to a compulsion that was ruining his life. The fact remains that more than understanding or pitying the reasons for certain behaviors, it seemed and still seems necessary to reiterate the things I wrote 6 months ago: there are unwritten rules that, for me, always apply. I believe they are obvious even to those who pretend not to share them. Whether they are a walking piston or a chronic masturbator. In a context like this, they seem to carry less weight, due to the possible concealment of identity. For me, that is not the case. Regards.

Hal had suggested the purchase to me, right after its release (which I had missed). And of course I did it. What I appreciate about Haden is his ability to express his immense talent in forms that are sometimes seemingly distant, yet always with undeniable class and care. There’s also a sentimental side here, after so many years... - But, you know, Mr. Green Genes, sometimes things are almost inseparable and the premise is part of the conversation...

A militant page, Hal... The samples seem to suggest that talent is not lacking. Marked, thanks.

Well, Fest, I was describing the effect of Y in the review of God... Then, you know how it is, a certain affection for those old records from those years also plays a role...
