But then you listen to the single.

I read it a long time ago, and I liked it.
I then read other works of his, but this one, perhaps because it was the first, appealed to me more.
I understand the reasons for the admiration and reassessment of his work, but I don't share the same enthusiasm as many, particularly regarding the writing, which isn't always precise.
I haven't read him in quite a while, but I had the impression that the "style" used in another genre (he wrote a lot of "romance" fiction, if I'm not mistaken) subtly contaminated this aspect of his output as well.
I should reread some pages to elaborate more thoroughly, but I trust my hazy memories.

But I liked the beginning, I'll read it.
I don’t remember the record well, I still have the vinyl (I think I have about 690 left), but the system, though deceased, lies unburied.
Maybe I'll steal the CD from some poor soul who trusts me.

In the same year (2007), another solo piano album of his, "Solo in Mondsee," was released by ECM, but it features recordings from 2001. I liked it a lot, and I take the liberty of recommending it. I have never heard this one; I will do so.
