@Dante: You forgot to note that in sixth place, even if it doesn’t matter at all, is "Like A Virgin." Oh dear, what a forgetfulness... .

Beautiful review for an album that personally raised, and not by a little, the value of PMG. It is a work in line with episodes like "Still Life," with the difference that there are 15 years between the two... A newfound freshness combined with the ability to convince on thematic developments makes it a really nice album. Uxo has delivered another great review without leaning too much, being an obvious fan of the American guitarist. However, I still consider "The Way Up" one of the absolute peaks of Metheny, and one can only hope that the guitarist can maintain the long wave of this state of grace, because it certainly won't be easy. What is still left to review from Pat?

LostinSpace: I don’t know and I don’t care about your bullshit stories; as for the reviews: one would assume that we discuss music on a site dedicated to it, focusing on music as the primary subject and catalyst, considering that the review is related to a musical work: if you want to interpret it however you like... it seems that no one can evidently prevent that. We only appeal to the common sense and sensitivity of those who write. As for how Elena’s feelings might give you something to think about, instead of arguing in public, why not send her a private email?

Dante: you’re a dragon! How did you guess?! And you should see how I walk!! Just like Tony Manero!! And... guess what I’m humming on Saturday morning, right after getting up from bed?.... "Fever night Fever Night ooohh oohhhh ....!" Love, Man! :D

Just "La Rossa" alone would justify the purchase of this still life. And then there's everything else. However, VDGG are not for everyone, as their dark inclinations and sometimes very complex settings alienated them from the sympathies of many fans of so-called prog. I even dare to think that if it hadn’t been for Hammill's extraordinary guiding voice, the band might have ended up among the so-called "B" groups. Which, luckily, was not the case. And thank goodness for that.

I've known this work for over twenty years, and from the very beginning, I believe I understood the importance of a sound architecture based on electronics, structured in a radically different way from similar European currents. It's a work of some significance, considering we're at the dawn of the seventies and, in its way, also fun and highly experimental. The only other embodiment of this "pop" electronics, personally, I find in some of Beaver & Krause's works. I don’t know why, but instinctively “In A Wild Sanctuary” and “Gandharva” come to mind, which are not so electronic after all. The review, aside from being rich in information, is also very well done, but knowing enrybaxx, it doesn't surprise me. Keep it up, man.

Great review, Elena, for one of Steven Wilson's side projects. "Flowermouth" largely reflects what inspires you and inspires me as well. Bowness's voice is truly extraordinary and rare, and the sounds and musical architecture for the period when the album was released were really "ahead." I inform you and any interested parties regarding Wilsonian side projects that the second work by Blackfield will be released on February 12. They are not as experimental and "advanced" as No-Man, but they are another beautiful ray of light. Elena, please note that there is not a single rating for the album from anyone who has commented on your review so far. (......)

@Happypippo: thanks for reiterating the director's name twice. If you had been kind enough to read a few lines above, it had already been mentioned. Oh well. Repetita iuvant.

In addition to the alphabetic sign language that makes the cover so enigmatically captivating, this, personally, continues to be one of Metheny's works that I listen to the least. Uxo did well to review it, outlining its contours and aspirations quite effectively (and mentioning me... Thank you for the compliment!), and making its limits well understood. I must say that I, too, like someone has already hinted, prefer the first part of the review where the "metneny-uxostory" is told. I believe I walked those streets too, thirty years ago or so… Uxo, you have my full support for your faith in the artist and for the infectious enthusiasm you manage to convey. Well done!

@antoniomimmo: I read your suggestion for "states of Imagination": could you share some samples, just to satisfy curiosity? :)
