The Mars Volta The Bedlam In Goliath

While waiting for the album release, I listened to some tracks, and the impression is that it's a work that will be appreciated only by those who follow the genre.

Damn, whether they're acting in good faith, I don't know. That they don't have much to say artistically seems evident to me, IMHO: the album in question is a compilation of their clichés, and they don't even try to change the script. Then the fact that they're offering the album as a free download seemed to me like a trick to cover up the lack of content (and the hype I've mentioned in the previous comment does not refer to their bank accounts, alas much fuller than mine), as well as a move with zero risk: Yorke and company can pull off such a stunt thanks to 15 years of success and notoriety. In fact, the album has been talked about only for this reason (and rightly so: musically, they have nothing to say). That it has ended up among the best albums of the year in all the magazines of the world means absolutely nothing: rather, it should make us reflect on how many illustrious magazines have swallowed this mediocre album like it's gourmet food. You yourself write that it's a great pop album, then you immediately claim that it gets boring pretty quickly: I find that a bit contradictory. If it's a great album, how can it bore you? Best regards.

Listened to and relistened to over the past month, this little disc doesn't seem like much to me. It even lacks the few flashes of Hail To The Thief: you might remember 15 Step, maybe the strings of Faust Arp and Videotape (which, if they had left it with just piano and voice...). Then offering the album for download, aside from posing no threat for a band like theirs, was a great media move: but what does all this hype have to do with the music?

The initial quote is not from "Solitario" but from "Cosa Fai Stasera." IMHO, this is Bugo's most authentic album.

a particular and not easily graspable disc, IMHO. I've had it for a while and I would have liked to review it! but I see that in a few aspects you have thoroughly examined it more than enough.
