Okay, for me we close here. One last thing: my surprise, as I told you, is due to the fact that your criticism of Ligabue made me think—perhaps wrongly, and I admit it—that you had musical tastes that didn’t include pop (which I am against)... but don’t say that you don’t criticize anyone because with "buon compleanno elvis" you did, so be careful with how you write. As for the rest, we can wrap it up here; we’ll catch up for the next review! One more thing: why do you write "carmeli"? I thought it was a typo, but you did it 2-3 times...

Listen, my friend: I've listened to this CD, and if you want to know the whole story, I've also listened to the next one, something like "affirmation" (do you have that CD?). You see, having an older sister comes with its honors and duties... Anyway, let me turn your phrase back on you about "shut up and don't judge": you don't know me, you're wrong if you say that I'm shooting down things I don't know (I haven't made any assumptions about you…). I've received so much criticism about my early reviews (the Nirvana one was too long, and I admit that; the DT one was too fanatical, and I can see how that might apply) but I’ve never commented on anyone else's reviews, just check my DeBpage if you want, so you're wrong to say that: I repeat, mine was just astonishment without irony or criticism or anything... Getting back to the point, I fear I'll stick to my opinion on Savage Garden, and I'm sure you’ll stick to yours, but that doesn't mean I think you're talking nonsense or anything like that.

I didn't say that... besides, I fear that a pop album can be recognized even just from the single (unless you want to know the worst of the "artist"...). Moreover, the comparison with Keane only holds up to a certain point (the Britpop of groups like Oasis, Coldplay, Keane indeed has a significant rock matrix). Finally, I didn't take anything personally; it's just that shooting down like you did with Liga (who I still don't consider a myth, my favorite genres are quite different) made me think that you have tastes that are worlds apart: take my first message as one of surprise! Ultimately, the contradiction lies in the fact that if Ligabue gives you the creeps because of how he's hyped by the masses, then the Backstreet Boys, Tiziano Ferro, or Savage Garden should give you a heart attack.

Pop is mass, you are contradicting yourself. And that single was played 20,000 times a day, too much not to know the album.

Sorry, but you criticize Ligabue and then you do the review of SAVAGE GARDEN?...

I know what "train" means; we were just discussing it about ten messages ago... but before you say such things, why don't you inform yourself a little about idioms, sayings, proverbs, etc. in English? Or are you going to English lessons from Apu? If that's the case, then it all makes sense...

It was just an introduction, something like that... I thought no one would pay it any attention because, simply put, it doesn't matter. It's me who is left speechless in front of your reaction...

I won’t comment on your intervention because I don’t waste time with those who think they are splendid through a pathetic mishmash of Guns N' Roses and satanism, and then believe they can be funny with jokes like "spray shit" and "sex education" (you managed to beat Fantozzi in cringeworthiness)... just one note: if when you say "take an English course" you’re referring to the translation of the title, then I’m the one who suggests you take an English course that also teaches idioms, proverbs, mottos, and various things! Because you see, Shakespeare of the third millennium, I know perfectly well that "train" means train, but know that "train of thought" means exactly what I wrote, something that has been confirmed to me by several reliable sources. Next time, before writing nonsense, get better informed...

Thanks Marea, but when you mention Boston, it throws me off a bit... isn't Long Island part of New York or New Jersey or somewhere like that? Definitely not Boston... Anyway, I take this opportunity to respond to many who have commented on the review: I don't compare this album to other DT albums like Images, Awake... in short, the early ones, but it is also true that every band undergoes an evolution over the years (take Metallica: there has been evolution, although unfortunately in a negative way...) and it's pointless to criticize them so much because their evolution has produced a really great album which I consider ToT, very different from the early ones but nonetheless top-notch! Listen to it again and again, in the long run you'll see that it's true (two songs in particular, "This Dying Soul" and "Stream of Consciousness"... truly beautiful). As for the fanatical tone of the review... well, I admit that it's true, a bit too much like an ecstatic teenager, but in my defense, I say that I didn't write this review for Debaser but for a site managed by my classmates, and here I just included part of the complete review to keep it from being too lengthy. I hope I've been thorough... P.S. Listening to the new album "Octavarium," I was quite disappointed: I didn't like it almost at all, the songs feel a bit anonymous (someone said that one song seems copied from Muse: it's true!)... but maybe in some time, after I've absorbed it, I'll change my mind!

listen darkbard, omnipotent god of music, you are not the only one who knows bands like Symphony X, Enchant or many many others... and knowing them, I say that DT are better! don’t believe that you are the chosen one who has the gift reserved only for him to know musical culture, unfortunately I must tell you that there are plenty of educated people as much as or more than you, and just as many are the people like you who think they invented music themselves... you all shut up because you are ridiculous!!!
