I don't think they spent that much time covering that stuff; we're talking about artists, not Caparezza, they know where to put their hands, they probably took about 2 months, and they sell it at the exact same price as an unreleased CD. They could have done a thousand things, they did half, that really bothers me, just that. It's not that they lack connections; Maynard was Tom Morello's neighbor, aka the president of Axis Of Justice, if they wanted, they could have done a lot, even just with one album. They point fingers at people who fall asleep, but they did the exact same thing. They can act as cool as they want, but they're just as clueless as the others, on that side. From a business perspective, I bow to them; they'll make money without stepping on anyone's toes. And I wanted to finish with a "who cares." :)

I’ll start by saying that I logically haven’t seen the inner cover, and I don’t go to their website, so yes, you’re right, and I agree with them too. I’m not at all about Peace & Love & flowers, not at all. I had understood even before that this thing wasn’t about Peace & Love; I know Maynard well. It annoys me, first of all, that they did it with a COVER album. If you want to express an ideal, given that you’re not a bunch of clueless idiots – I mean, Howerdel was producing ALBUMS when I was riding my bike. Maynard and various other guys, all people with guts, and they make a cover album. Secondly, if you want to take action, do it; don’t just make your freaking cover and that’s it. You have the means to do it, heavy ones too; something a little less "arcane" and straightforward, right? The point is that they’ve taken a step this way and another that way; those who know them understand one thing, and those who DON’T know them understand another. Many affectionate girls listen to APC, A LOT of affectionate Peace & Love girls who buy their CD. With covers, you’re saying almost nothing; you’re quoting others, not openly declaring yourself. It makes me angry that they took a half-step; that’s what pisses me off, since you’re there, do it right. And it makes me even angrier that both the Peace & Love crowd and the non-Peace & Love crowd buy it. It makes me mad that from this half-step they will make three times what a regular cover album would make. It infuriates me that they were clever, and they’ll screw over many people without having done much at all.

However, Billy Howerdel is gay, that's not up for debate.

Well, if the cover is different then okay. I am against the cover; the CD is worldwide, the best one they’ve made. As I mentioned above, it's very clever and very well played. However, that peace symbol on the cover is just arresting. A very sad commercial move, exploiting the moment to sell a COVER CD. You're already using others, and on top of that, the peace symbol too. If they really wanted to be cool, they should have called it I HATE BUSH, then I would have bought it in triplicate too.
