Yes & No. "Yes," it's true that the album is very Sabbath, "no," it's not true that it's bad; in fact, it's better than The Great Southern. I understand that the Thrasher Fans may have been disappointed with this album, but as someone who has loved Sabbath since before PantA, I really enjoyed it. Less angry but much more structured. <<< Trust In Whiskey, Weed an Black Sabbath... It's Goddam Electric >>> Amen. / In the end, you also say that it’s well-played and technically excellent, but the imprint is there; it’s different from the early works, but that’s better so, damn, it was about time they modernized. They couldn't just make another PantA-style album; in my opinion, they did the right thing.

Zion review The Gift Of Gab, I've heard a little bit and it seems like a damn great album.

Zion, I don't listen to the Roots on principle; they went against everything they professed for years, and people who suddenly change their allegiance really get on my nerves. Cool, of those you mentioned, I only like the assaults, Frankie hasn’t been my thing since '95, and the others have always disgusted me. Tormento doesn’t sit well with me even with half a kilo of buscopan :)

Well, in the end, you don't miss much... I remember that aside from Word Cup, the rest was quite rough. However, I liked Viva II, back in the days (96-97) they had everything themed, there was Jazz hour, Electro hour, Rock hour... if you caught the right hour, they played some great stuff, thanks to them I discovered that genius Herbie Hancock.

But then, if they had sold themselves to sing with whoever... but... let's not dwell on that "singer."

I Roots... I was a HUGE fan of theirs, it’s a shame they haven’t released an album in a while. I know they sold the name and rights to some guys who went to the Festivalbar; they looked like the Roots, they really seemed like them, except for the music they made. Now this clone group has put out another album, but I don’t listen to it on principle. Those who harshly condemned these things, those who changed "uan for da mani ciù for da sciò" to "uan for da maind ciù for da flow," went to the Festivalbar. When someone isn’t consistent, it makes me mad; not dead because they made history, but maybe an accident that would leave them paralyzed from the neck down… yeah. ODB (REST IN PEACE) did the commercial nonsense, and I took it happily; he always said he didn’t give a fuck, he never acted cool here and there and then sold out. I hate those who change overnight all of a sudden.

But even if objectively as a rapper he's mediocre, I can't stand his way of singing and his voice, and, I repeat, a year before seeing him on MTV, I still remember when Tyron from Word Cup on Viva was hyping him up a lot, sure he was speaking in German so I didn't understand it, but you could tell he liked him, I hated that video, he opened the show for a month with My Name is... then disappeared from circulation... I thanked God... and after a year and more... BAM and he became Eminem. Yo, but do they still air Word Cup on Viva? Is Tyron still on there? I'm talking about that shaved guy who talks like a gay, I haven't seen him in years, but before it was a regular appointment, way better than Yo! on MTV Europe.

Ice Cube is dead, and his friends from the Wet Circle are so pathetic that they don’t even deserve death. Doggystyle makes me sick; it has always made me sick. N.W.A. did something good, but only with Eazy E. Back in the days of the mess with Dre, I was young, but looking back, I rooted for Double E. Eazy's son and his friends are dead. The West has ruined rap—who charts now? Who does East or who does West? Those who tarnish the name of the genre have always been them; it’s just that before they disgusted me and that was it. I only knew them, and it was enough for me not to buy their CDs to avoid hearing them. Now, though, I want to see them dead because they might be with someone listening to the radio, and I have to hear them. Stupid pop doesn’t bother me; I've built up immunity. It goes in one ear and out the other, but the damn rap drives me crazy because IT MAKES NO SENSE. Rap makes sense if you communicate because it’s NOT music. It's RAP, entirely based on WORDS AND YOUR CONTENT. If you have no content (and the West Coasters HAVE no content), what are you doing? I listen to a thousand groups that have no content, but at least they sound good; rappers don’t sound good. You can make a rap beat in 3-4 hours, so I expect content. A professional deformation from an ex-bibboi :D / Eminem falls into the category of zero content; he’s just crap. Plus, his metrics, lyrics in hand, don’t hold up. Better than 94% of rap, which is an insult, placed in the average of 4% of mediocre rappers, but not even comparable to the remaining 2% of Alpha B-Boys.
