I like all of Davis's albums, but for me, the best ones are from '69 to '76-77. The best CD you can buy, however, is Live Evil. :) As for Jarrett and Cotrabasso, I don't pay much attention to them, but you got the idea of who and what I meant, that is, a junkie and an instrument. I was a bit fed up with hearing about Jarrett and jazz as if it were some chic and polished stuff; these guys were 1456 times crazier than Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath put together. Not snobby at all...

Eh... in LOS ANGELES nobody cares, Kosmo. In Los Angeles, there’s an epic concert happening with the same frequency that I go to the bathroom. Let’s remember the "enormous bastard broken in the ass face of that infamous motherf***er who should die 12345 times in a row from the worst d***s in the world" who shot Darrel... he was American. Damn, Americans are fanatics, Hoyoshi, the superfan of Tool, is American, and yes, he did the entire Tool world tour, recorded it, digitized it, paid for a .com domain, and posted all the live shows online... nothing fanatic about that guy. Every time I hear of people following a band on tour, it's American. Zakk Wylde no longer accepts drunks in the places where he plays because every time they expect him to get wasted and strip... and Zakk plays in America. Stage Diving is American, people jumping off the speakers are of American origin, festivals are American... you know why Josh was calm in Switzerland? Because of marijuana, obviously, obviously and clearly. Marijuana & Homme are two things that go hand in hand. Maybe he finished the cocaine during the day and switched to ganjah. I wouldn’t bet on it but it’s pretty likely :D (I wouldn’t bet that he ran out of cocaine, but I swear and pledge he’s good with marijuana :D)

If you want a truly crazy cover album... that takes existing compositions, tears them apart, and rebuilds them while perfectly immersing itself in the environment, I would recommend Francesco Zappa by Frank Zappa. Francesco Zappa was some kind of, I think, maybe I don't remember, 150 years ago. That’s really a great cover album, shocking in the truest sense of the word. Or as I mentioned above, The Director's Cut by Fantomas... where even Zorn had his hand in it :D

Oh, it's not bad... Zorn has never made and I don't think he will ever make a bad album... but in this one, in my opinion, he wanted to mess with us. That's also a quality, but I'm used to expecting a lot from the artist in question. There's a difference between "now I feel like listening to the new Dozer" and "damn, let's see what Zorn has pulled out of the hat this time" :)

No benzo, not at all. I come from messed up jazz, thanks to a very demanding dad. This record, though, is not really that big of a challenge or madness, quite the opposite. It’s not hard to grasp at all; it’s too easy to assimilate, and it’s obvious that it’s a joke. The breaks, Zorn knows how to make them, but on this record he does them poorly. I don’t see this as a good Zorn album. I have quite a few of his records, not all of them because there are at least 200, including every project he’s been involved in, but a good 50 indeed (for example, Mr. Bungle Omonimo Produced By Zorn). I really like Zorn a whole lot, more than you can even imagine… but I consider this record very low compared to his other works. Come on... they’re covers. He started with a magnificent foundation; he could have done muuuuuch better. I specifically stated THIS RECORD, I didn’t mention Zorn’s works in general. And I also added "I prefer Naked City," which requires about 457 more listens to digest than this cover album for the "famous two laughs" :D

But hadn't Vrensis hanged himself in the hotel?

Josi... but who is Tim? The new shiny bassist?

In my room, there are 8 posters: Bruce Lee, Patton & Zorn, Waters & Barrett, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Diego Armando Maradona, Jimi Hendrix, El Producto. I would like a poster of George Jung & Pablo Escobar together in the garden of Pablo's fortress... but I don't think they're for sale. They, although in various settings, are my personal idea of Cacao... Meraglio and even more :D

The final point is "Great pastime record" or "Masterpiece of Intermezzo." A great pastime between Absolutely Free & Druqks :D

Oh... I really like this thing, huh! I ADORO Mike Patton, vv... Mike Patton. The one who, if you approach him with 12 of his original albums asking for an autograph, will promptly tell you to fuck off. His autograph is a drawn middle finger. Josh in comparison to Mike is Sister Paola. Music is also a business, and a true musician is able to have a global vision of both. Notice it vv, there are times I say Artist, and times I say Musician. For me, Josh is a great, great, great musician. I’m not crazy about the QOTSA, I consider them a great band and I listen to them because in the end they’re not too extreme and I can listen to them in the car even with friends. But for example, in the office, I wouldn't put them on even if someone pointed a gun at my balls; it’s easy stuff... beautiful easy stuff, but still easy stuff. There’s no such thing as beautiful and ugly except for very rare cases; there's just an album that finds its space. I’m convinced I’ll often listen to this in the car with friends, but I’m equally convinced that I would never, ever listen to it with headphones, not even a little bit. Headphones are for Zappa, for Miles Davis... for other more intricate, cerebral things that maintain a clear overall vision of various disjointed pieces. The QOTSA make beautiful songs, they don’t make great music... I don’t know if it’s clear what I mean; it’s just that I also have to work, damn it. If I had more time, I’d explain myself better, I’m sorry :)
