Snowdonia never heard of it, on Italian Rock I suck, I vomit and feel disgust, I’m stuck on prog but after 1980, in Italian I only have Rap and then recent stoner rock (albums from 3 years ago to today). Maybe Kosmo or Pugliamix or Kurz could help you, they are the experts in this online realm, if they happen to stop by at least one of the three will hit the mark :)))

As for the derivative, I completely agree with you, but I would add the caveat: it’s not easy to start with the assumption of """imitating""" McLaughlin, Billy Cobham, Robert Wyatt, and the like... eh. Ask the Afterhours if they can manage :)))

Eh, but I told you, I have a massive distrust of CCCP. You know when you have those friends who only listen to two or three bands and just keep annoying you with their huge nonsense? In high school, I was surrounded by people who listened to Aftreauar (see review), Marlene Kuntz (I only know "festa mesta"), and CCCP CSI (I only knew "Spara Jury"), so I had a built-in hatred for years. After a while, having read countless praises for CCCP, I got their entire discography for free (which already subconsciously implies less commitment to listening, you can't help it when you pay for something, you listen to it more) and I listened to it with tons of skepticism, and that name makes me sick; naming a band CCCP is equivalent to eliminating myself from the list of potential buyers. Oh, it's the same if they had called themselves Mein Kampf, yes, but I hate extremism, and the great mother Russia always gets on my nerves because of youth trends and the t-shirts of my classmates. Being red is cool now, I hate being cool, so I hate buying a record with the name CCCP. (Yeah, I know I'm a prejudiced idiot, but I like myself this way :D) PS I was talking about that Vasco album, just that one, namely "non siamo mica gli americani," the rest is garbage except for a few scattered tracks.

The Biglietto and the Rovescio are much more rock (for example, the Area end up doing Jazz Fusion), so they should appeal to you. Alright, rock it is, let's do psychedelic blues prog then... anyway, I like them a lot :D

Of course, without forgetting Electric Wizard, I wrote "we hate you" on the gravel.

Ah, I listened to the CCCP because everyone here praises them, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered at all. Maybe I listened to them with seven hundred kilos of skepticism on my shoulders, but it’s clear that they are just a rock band, nothing more and nothing less. :D

The best live Italian performance of all time (blowjobs all around, but they deserve it, no doubt). The peak of Area's charm can be found in the interview from the limited edition of Maledetti, when Paolo, asked "how did you react to the crowd's boos?" lets out a great laugh, legend. Personally, I consider the CCCP and later splits as the best of Italian rock, but in the overall ranking they slide down quite a bit, let's say they're a bit above Vasco Rossi's first album. (then that name... my god, it's off-putting)

Prog Italico in my opinion (besides the Area, to whom I've already given too many praises) all the albums of Le Orme (now Superintruder is here to annoy with how beautiful "Felona & Sonora" is :D), Tilt by Arti & Mestieri, Il Rovescio della medaglia, for which I recommend the third one since the first two seem to me like the Italian Black Sabbath, Balletto di Bronzo I give a vote of Sirio 2222 (maybe there’s one too many or one too few), Biglietto per l'Inferno I rate all together considering I still have to explore them thoroughly (this isn’t Italian pop, this stuff needs to be studied), PFM from the 70s, New Trolls' concerto grosso, Perigeo is nice "we all have a Blues to cry" (maybe I like it more than "valle dei templi" because it has a nice title :D), and just a few days ago I was given "Albergo Intergalattico Spaziale" which abuses of Voices + Vocoder overdubs and tons of moog mellotron and hammond keyboards, right now I tell you they're really cool but I've listened to them 3 times, don't trust me :D

Catharsis excites me much more than this year's, but it's a matter of genre; the illusion of motion is already quite metal. Cath is clearly Jus/Pike/Otis... if we want to include the m'asciuga this time, they are half hybrids between Spaziodoom and Metallopesssante. "Anfatti bello", 5/5.

For me, they are the absolute best without competition in Italy, and they battle among the top 5 international groups. As for Balletto di Bronzo, I prefer Le Orme or Biglietto per l'Inferno or Arti & Mestieri (the latter especially for Furio Chirico, who in my opinion deserves the title of best Italian drummer). In Arbeit, I feel the lack of the “stylistic messiness” that, on the contrary, plays the leading role in Maledetti, “too simple” to be the best of Area (I’m talking about Arbeit), apart from the title track, which competes with Diforisma Urbano for the title of best Italian song of all time. But above all, and ever, and Metal Will Reign Supreme.
