Mythical.

Considering that you like the Kennedys, it's normal not to like Sabbath; there's quite a difference from fast, direct, clear to slow, expansive, dark. Then there are those who like both, and blessed are they. (there aren't many, though)

One can only think well of the Stones, but I'm more into Jimi, Cream, Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Hawkwind from that era.

Well, when it comes to Tangerine Dream, there are millions of similar bands, Captain Beefheart isn't that far from Zappa and the whole experimental school, but I don’t really get what you mean with Royal Trux and Pussy Galore... what’s so strange about them? Ok, Tangerine and the captain: music of a certain kind that's hard to find, but with the last two, I don’t follow you.

Well, anyway, they remain the group that implemented "deconstruction of the punk stereotype, rock 'n' roll and its hypertrophic, amphetamine-fueled, highly original reconstruction..." ... in PUNK. Those things had already been done by millions of bands elsewhere, but they brought it to punk. A great band that conquered punk, but it's easy to be strong and bullying in kindergarten. Then, of course, since the genre makes me sick, they can only make me sick too. The Stooges, no, they're an enormous band, just to clarify that you never know.

But to be precise, what did the DK contribute to world music? What is the imprint you see in the bands that came after them? What did they do that no one had ever done before? Because I find much, much more protest in the lyrics of 70s prog bands; instrumentally, the DK were so poor it’s pitiful, so I don’t believe they achieved anything... Punk had already been pretty much done by the Stooges, in my opinion; everything post '77 musically (I said musically, not talking about the social movement) changed nothing, absolutely nothing. Let me know if there’s something I’m missing.

But is the story of Vicious’s death true?

Uh... you didn’t read the footnote --> if you think you came to debaser without having any idea what scazzo is, you must be out of your mind, good grief). <--- Read it again and you'll understand a lot of things. Anyway, now Biafra makes me laugh less, but the Dead Kennedys do make me laugh, so in the end, it’s about the same. As for importance in overall music, I wouldn't agree even if you shot yourself; Clash & Sex Pistols, okay they influenced and created currents, they made a lot of noise... but the Kennedys, for me, are nothing. Maybe I'm shortsighted, but for me the Kennedys have absolutely no historical importance in music overall, maybe in punk but for everything else, zero.

I always like to think that Syd Vicious, the ancestor of the Coglionazzi, after being arrested for hitting his wife, wants to celebrate upon getting out of jail, and he celebrates with a nice overdose that kills him. The King OF Coglionazzo: violent, heroin addict, idiot (a guy who's been shooting up for years and doesn't know the limit dose). Then I don’t know if this story is true, but some punks told it to me proudly, as if it were something to boast about, and I like to believe that it’s all true. I can totally picture that idiot Vicious dying like a fool.

Ah, and that thing about Biafra suing the rest of the group for money made me smile. Oh, don’t get me wrong, it’s a completely legitimate right to report those who wrong you, and he did a great job in suing his associates, but you can’t help but laugh a little, considering that when he wants to, Biafra isn’t so punk after all... I wonder how nice he looked in court with a suit and tie. (Oh, maybe I’m wrong and he didn’t sue the group but someone else... but given how much they said to the cops and the justice system, you can’t help but chuckle.)
