Here, now I have time and I’ll explain myself in one place: This is a matter of principle for me. I don't listen to things wrapped in brands that represent political regimes and/or dictatorships. If the Area were called CCCP, I would have missed them, and I would be happy about it. My reasoning is not unionesovietica=mortidifame=s talinismo but Unione Sovietica = Regime = Crap. I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it. You keep talking about Ferretti's lyrics, but I don't give a damn about Ferretti's lyrics, I really don't care at all, he messes up from the start and I don't care if he redeems himself later: His image, his name, come before his lyrics. He markets that brand by making records, then they become popular and therefore the records are still in stores, and it pisses me off to walk into CD shops and see a nice CCCP with the Hammer & Sickle instead of Cannibal Ox; it really grinds my gears. I couldn't care less about what they do because I fundamentally do not tolerate the use of such symbols, I do not tolerate what they represent, and I can't help but think that he uses it to sell, so it's double disgust because it's a commercial move using a sickle and hammer instead of tits and asses along with a pro-Soviet punk. To me, punk as a concept is annoying, I don't like punk philosophy one bit. I don’t like Soviet philosophy, not at all. How can I listen to something like that and overlook my principles for a damn record? I won't overlook them: tons of crap. They could make the best music in the world, tons of crap just the same. Music is a pastime, a passion, but politics is serious business and so I won't bring a record with CCCP on it into my house; it disgusts me. Does he think like me? Great, I invite him for dinner, but if he brings a CCCP record, it won't enter my house. It was a regime that killed people, the damn infamous frog, it was a regime that killed innocent people, it was a fucking regime, it killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured... and you come to tell me "well, but it's used in a particular way"... I don’t give a damn about that, nothing related to sickles, hammers, and swastikas will ever enter my house or my ears again. I couldn’t care less about talking about Togliatti, I know who he was, he disgusts me, period. I know what Nazism was, it disgusts me, period. I know what communism was, it disgusts me, period, I don't want any more of it, I couldn’t care less but not in the sense of "who cares," exactly because I do care, I hope it gets buried. But damn it, are you guys overlooking a blood-soaked brand for 4 damn songs? The world is full of beautiful records, but beautiful ones, and without bloody brands on top. And I reiterate for the umpteenth time, no one assures me that this person didn't really believe in it. You say this guy is very intelligent, good, since he's intelligent, couldn’t he be fooling you all? Damn Henry Rollins... super macho... super songs about chicks... he gets it in the ass, he loves the dick, and he's fooled us all, so no one can stop me from thinking that this Ferretti does the same. But above all, under the symbol of the hammer and sickle, they killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortured, and you come to tell me to not care because it’s just another symbol? For me, it’s not just another symbol, I would have kicked it in the face for months and months, it's not just another symbol. I don’t listen to these guys, damn it, I can't stand seeing CCCP-Fedeli Alla Linea - 01 - Morire on my Walkman, it doesn't exist. Or seeing CCCP among my music folders alongside Can and Celestial Season. NO, I want to see Can followed by Celestial Season, no fucking CCCP. And why? (Come on, everyone together now!) Because under the symbol of the hammer and sickle they killed and tortured, killed and tortured, killed and tortu
